Professor Serhii Plokhii is the Mykhailo Hrushevsky professor of Ukrainian history at Harvard University, where he also serves as the director of the Ukrainian Research Institute. He’s the author of quite a few award-winning books including “The Gates of Europe: A History of Ukraine”, which in 2015 won the world’s most important award for non-fiction, the Lionel Gelber Prize – and a book that’s been invaluable to us while we discuss the Yalta conference, “Yalta: The Price of Peace”. Serhii was kind enough to join us to talk about the importance of the Yalta conference and his analysis of the key players, the Big Three, FDR, Churchill and Stalin.
