For the 2024-25 college basketball season, we will have five returning AP All-Americans: Johni Broome (Auburn), RJ Davis (North Carolina), Hunter Dickinson (Kansas), Caleb Love (Arizona), and Mark Sears (Alabama). This is the highest number of returnees in the last five years (3 in 2023-24; 2 in 2022-23; 3 in 2021-22; 2 in 2020-21; 2 in 2019-20). Will this be a trend we see proliferate in the years to come thanks to factors like the transfer portal and NIL? Or is it an outlier tied to COVID eligibility?
