Optical is a large part of the majority of practices. If not set up correctly, it can be an area that can cause patients to glaze over and force your opticians into giving a mini-lens school just to explain the decisions they have to make. My advice: KEEP IT SIMPLE! Both your patients AND your opticians will thank you. This week I give 5 ways to make this a relaxed and enjoyable encounter for all involved. (00:44)

In today's office talk, I give some great news on a new milestone I just cleared as well as some great opportunities to talk with the next class of optometrists. I had the privilege of meeting with students from two great schools this week and let me tell you, it was so invigorating! There were tons of great questions and without a doubt it solidified my love for the profession and mentoring even more. (15:56)
