Today is Juneteenth! Wait. What is that? Juneteenth is an annual holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States and it’s been celebrated by African-Americans since the late 1800s, and many people think it should be an official national holiday, including Mrs. Opal Lee, a 94-year-old grandmother who is collecting one million signatures to help pitch congress on this idea. Speaking of grandmas, I can’t wait to be a grandma! I think knee socks and cardigans will be involved. This week’s community challenge is to get dressed anyway. Did you forget how to buckle a belt? I did.
