In this episode, we discuss discrimination issues faced by traveling healthcare professionals. While discrimination occurs worldwide and is not unique only to travel healthcare professionals, we as travelers may be subject to potential discrimination more often as we move around and insert ourselves into new communities and work environments very often. We’ve gathered insight from a variety of our colleagues from all over the country with different backgrounds who have faced varying forms of discrimination on the basis of race, sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation. We will be providing a platform to discuss these issues, as well as provide insight and suggestions we’ve gathered on how we as healthcare professionals can help to improve these issues and reduce discrimination within our community of healthcare providers nationwide.
