Episode #7 brings us an inspiring story about a creative hat company, BDVibez, that was started in 2016 with the primary mission to reach as many people as possible with fun, positive messages through hats. 5 years and 287,000 hats later across 46 states, BDVibez continues to spread positivity and mental health awareness.

BDVibez was founded by Bryan Derrickson, who we have the pleasure of hearing from during this episode. Bryan had a knack for drawing hat sketches for a long time, and unfortunately lost his best friend Rich to the battle of depression. This tragedy led him to turn his hobby into a business with the goal of placing a cap on suicide, literally. Bryan is devoted to inspiring people to live a positive lifestyle and defeat depression.

We all have our unique struggles in life, and it's crucial that we have positive influences in our lives along with strong and healthy habits so that we do not fall into the abyss of depression. Bryan's message is powerful and it will never cease.

Bryan has large ambitions with BDVibez, and that does not mean only making more hats. Portions of all sales go directly to the Department of Counseling at College of Charleston, specifically to mental health awareness and suicide prevention. He has a goal to contribute $50,000,000 towards this cause within the next 10 years. Bryan has a heart of gold and continues to give back by speaking in schools and businesses about mental health. The dialogue must continue at all levels: schools, businesses, friendships, you name it.
