A storm system is bringing heavy rain to the Charlotte, North Carolina area Thursday with a Flash Flood Warning in effect for several counties. President-elect Joe Biden said Tuesday that President Donald Trump's refusal to accept the results of the 2020 presidential election is "an embarrassment." Biden made the remark while addressing the nation on his COVID-19 advisory board's plan to tackle the pandemic once taking office in January. Trump's campaign has continued to make baseless claims about widespread voter fraud and filed multiple unsuccessful lawsuits in numerous states. It's unclear how long Trump will continue his challenge of the results but there are no signs of the president conceding at this time. First Warn forecaster Larry Sprinkle is tracking a line of heavy storms that will bring the threat of flooding to the Charlotte, North Carolina area Wednesday and Thursday. Former Vice President Joe Biden has taken the lead over President Donald Trump as ballots continue to be counted in the state of Georgia. Should Biden hold on and win Georgia, it will all but officially end Trump's re-election hopes. A win in the Peach State would be a huge feather in the cap for Democrats, who haven't carried Georgia in a presidential election since Bill Clinton in 1992. Biden is also closing the gap on Trump in Pennsylvania, with hundreds of thousands of ballots left to count. North Carolina is waiting on nearly 100,000 absentee ballots by mail, which means it'll probably be at least another week until we know for sure who won the election. Democrat Joe Biden was pushing closer to the 270 Electoral College votes needed to carry the White House, securing victories in the “blue wall” battlegrounds of Wisconsin and Michigan and narrowing President Donald Trump's path. With just a handful of states still up for grabs, Trump tried to press his case in court in some key swing states. It was unclear if any of his campaign's legal maneuvering over balloting would succeed in shifting the race in his favor.North Carolina is among the six states still left to determine a winner. North Carolina's presidential race is still too close to call, but President Donald Trump is declaring victory. The president does have the lead over Biden with 100% of precincts reporting, but there are still over 115,000 absentee ballots left to be counted. As long as those ballots are postmarked by November 3 and received by November 12, they will be allowed to be tallied in the final results.  Thom Tillis declared victory over Cal Cunningham in the most expensive congressional race in US history Tuesday night. Tillis, a strong supporter of President Trump's, thanked supporters for overcoming a huge poll advantage for Cunningham as Democrats hoped to flip the Senate. In South Carolina. Lindsey Graham won the closest race of his career, defeating well-funded Democrat Jaime Harrison to keep his Senate seat for another six years.  Plus, we're recapping the other key races from across North Carolina, including Madison Cawthorn's win in the House and Gov.
