Robert Ross: I seek to portray the beauty, mystery and hidden life of

the ordinary in natural and human-made environments. I am drawn to the

space between things and how it can suggest absence, relationship,

yearning or becoming. My paintings often convey a quiet stillness, a

sense that something has just happened or is about to happen, the hint

of an unseen presence. While good design is my starting point, more and

more I see form as simply a vehicle to transmit the pleasures of light
