He was the only five-year-old in his life who's favorite movie was "Babes in Toyland" and the only 10-year-old who loved "The Searchers." When he went to film school for his MFA at Columbia College Chicago, he realized that every major interest he had in his life could ultimately be traced back to a movie he'd seen.
