Brain injuries don’t just happen on the sports field or during car accidents. In fact, falls are the number one cause of brain injuries, and today’s guest, Cristabelle Braden, has suffered from multiple. When Cristabelle’s first TBI occurred 15 years ago while she was playing a game at her church’s youth group, medical professionals knew a lot less about post concussion syndrome than they do now. So, Cristabelle was sent home without all the information she needed, and as a result, she has fallen and hit her head numerous times since the initial incident. Some days just getting out of bed is a challenge, and other days she is able to live a full life as an award-winning singer/songwriter, speaker, writer, podcast host and advocate.
During this episode, Cristabelle shares how through faith, community, music, and never giving up hope, she manages to weather the “winters” of post concussion syndrome and thrive in the “springs!”
