Have you found yourself missing time? Or know someone who you had a great time with but the next time you see them they act like they don’t know you? Dissociative Identity Disorder, or DID, is one of the most misunderstood and mis-diagnosed mental health diagnoses. Mental health therapists often miss it and don’t know how to treat it and people in ministry will often think these people are demonized and cause more trauma with an unhealthy deliverance. In this episode, you will gain an understanding of what dissociation is, what DID is, how to tell the difference between a demon and a part and gain more understanding of an importance piece of the broken soul. You will also learn other coping mechanisms we turn to in trauma, besides dissociation. Children are not meant to go through extreme trauma and the brain has a brilliant way of protecting itself to survive. When these children become adults, they need to learn a new way to cope, if they are in a safe environment and are not still being abused. The Holy Spirit is our mighty comforter in times of need, and He will bring transformation no matter the trauma. God can teach us healthy coping skills and living in freedom is possible.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. ~Psalm 34:18
