Darwin Symphony Orchestra is travelling to Tennant Creek to collaboratively launch and celebrate the Warumungu Children's Album titled 'Singing for Our Little Ones' in the Barkly Regional Arts yard. Earlier this year Barkly Regional Arts announced they’d received funding through Regional Arts Australia to deliver a series of art workshops for the Tennant Creek public and this weekend it kicks off in fine form with a two-day Batik Workshop.

Chris Ng is the multimedia artist from Alice Springs who will be travelling up the Stuart to deliver the workshops and they join us now on the Big Brekky Program.

The Big Brekky Show had a chat with Dom Brinkley about the release of his live single 'This Old Page (Live at the Penny Black)' on Fri March 28th. A psychedelic blues-rock track that has been a live staple at many of the band’s shows over the past few years, this definitive version showcases Brinkley’s passionate vocal and fiery guitar work, backed by an energetic and tight rhythm section. We touched on his recent gig at the Alice Springs Brewery and his upcoming album release on 11 April, before he played an acoustic version of Old Page.

Humpty Dumpty Foundation founder Paul Francis OAM and Humpty Dumpty Foundation Patron Johanna Griggs AM dropped into the 8CCC studio, having travelled to Tennant Creek on Wednesday and in Mparntwe Alice Springs on Thursday to visit both local hospitals and view recently donated medical equipment.   

For over 30 years, the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and its supporters have provided lifesaving medical equipment and healthcare initiatives to help sick babies and children in over 500 hospitals and health services across Australia.

The Big Brekky spent some time with Rob Snarski during his first stay in Mparntwe Alice Springs, here to work with Chapman and Bailey and tonight perform at the Roastery!

Rob formed SnarskiCircusLindyBand with Lindy Morrison [Go-Betweens], ‘Evil’ Graham Lee [Triffids], long time collaborator Shane O’Mara [Silversound] and part-timer Dan Kelly [nephew of Paul] to record and tour after initial shows with Lindy. Their debut mini-album Someone Said That Someone Said was released in May 2023. The follow up mini-album I Know I Know was released in May 2024. October 2024 saw the release of Waiting For The Bell, an album recorded with his brother Mark under the moniker SNARSKI vs SNARSKI. Rob has toured the globe with The Blackeyed Susans and as a guest vocalist with The Triffids and The Go-Betweens, and has graced the same stage as Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen and Nico amongst others not quite as popular.
