Crystal Robins is best described as a folk & alt-country singer-songwriter, making music from Larrakia country. Crystal released The Time, which captures the struggle to appreciate the present while yearning for the future. The Big Brekky Show caught her before she headed to Tamworth where, amongst other things she is joining the Sheilas Renegades with Gleny Rae Virus, Alice Cotton and Emmy Ryan.

Mparntwe-based artist Jez Conlon AKA Cooperblack spoke with 8CCC Big Brekky about the 20 December release of his EP Erode. Jez is a musician and composer with over 25 years' experience in the music industry. His work as a sound engineer now comes under the banner of Left of Elephant Sound - for music production, mixing and mastering, location and film sound, ADR and voice over - to name a few. Erode is a 5 track electronic and alternative music production and mastered by Dave Crowe.

On December 6 the brightest and best students, trainees and apprentices from right around the country descended on the National Convention Centre in Canberra to celebrate the Australian Training Awards. Amongst the bottles of champagne, canapes, glitz and glamour, in a gorgeous red dress, was Tennant Creek’s own Asinate Bradbury - finalist for the Apprentice of the Year Award, winner of the NT Apprentice of the Year Awards in Darwin. Asinate has completed a Cert 2 in Mechanical Engingeering, and is working her way through Cert 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Engineering. Asinate joins the Big Brekky Program from 8CCC’s Tennant Creek studio to tell us more.

The Chief Executive Officer for Neighbourhood Watch, Veronica Larson, joins the Big Brekky Show to share tips for keeping your property safe over the summer holidays, particularly if you're heading away for a time. NWNT provides many free services detailed on their website, including home security self assessment tools and an Absentee Advice Form, which lets police know who to contact in an emergency at your property. She encourages neighbours to get to know each other and look out for each other over the summer holidays.

Christmas is often considered the ‘most wonderful time of the year’ but for some people it can feel isolating and lonely, especially if they don’t have family and friends to celebrate the day with.

Fortunately, Catholic Care NT in Tennant Creek are running their annual free community breakfast at Peko Park this Christmas Day and No More Community Development Worker David Khoory joined us on the Big Brekky Program to tell us all about the event, running from 7am until 9am.
