910.MX, ep 1125: Perdonar – y luego, ¿Qué?

Verás que el único lugar donde uno se siente verdaderamente bien, es

en el Aquí y el Ahora…

Cuando pensamos en nuestro pasado, o bien en el futuro, de alguna manera tendemos a pensar en blanco y negro.

Si pensamos en el pasado, hay la tendencia de fijarnos en los errores, los maltratos, los traumas (aunque, claramente, también habrá recuerdos buenos, suaves, amorosos y emocionantes); lo mismo si pensamos en lo que viene, de ahora en adelante: quehaceres, deberes, cargas, responsabilidades (aunque ahí también, obviamente, habrá expectativas e aspiraciones emocionantes…).

¿Qué tal si existiera la posibilidad de desteñir los negros, aclararlos a grises claros (o incluso al blanco intenso del olvido)? Pues resulta que sí existe esa posibilidad, y no es casualidad que aparezca de forma prominente en todas las religiones y filosofías del mundo:

el arte de perdonar. ¿Hablamos de esto?

Isn’t really the only place where we truly feel good, is right in the Here and Now?…

When we think about our past - and also about the future - somehow we tend to think in black and white.

If we look back, we often focus on the mistakes, the wrongs, the traumas (even though, of course, there will also be good, gentle, loving, and exciting memories).

The same happens when we think about what’s ahead in the near and further future: chores, duties, burdens, responsibilities (although there, too, obviously, we’ll find exciting expectations and aspirations).

But what if there were a way to fade the black into light gray — or even into the pure white of not even remembering?

It turns out there is such a way, and it’s no coincidence that it appears prominently in all the world’s religions and philosophies:

the art of forgiving. Shall we talk about it?

Gran, gran parte de lo bien que te puede hacer tu Todo Tu, ocurre ahí…

La boca, el glotis, el esófago, el estómago, el intestino delgado con el hígado y el páncreas, el intestino grueso, las ámpulas y el esfínter: todos forman parte de una dinámica que normalmente pasamos por alto, si no la tratamos con cierto asco y desdén.

Y resulta que es una dinámica sino fascinate, ciertamente vital;

Pero hay tanto más: to flora intestinal, las conexiones entre intestino, estrés, el corazón y el cerebro…

Todo, digno de admiración y, desde luego, tu cuidado cariñoso. ¡Tuyo!

Your mouth, the glottis, the esophagus, the stomach, the small intestine along with the liver and pancreas, the large intestine, the ampullae, the sphincter — all of it works together in a way we usually ignore… or even treat with a bit of disgust.

But the truth is, it’s a process that, if not downright fascinating, is certainly vital.

And there’s so much more: your gut flora, the links between your gut, stress, your heart, and your brain…

All of it - truly worthy of admiration, and of your gentle care. Yours to care for!

…just like a mother cares for her baby…

910.MX, ep 0925: 5°/5 Sembradío: No Hacer Estupideces

Quizás el más grande obstáculo para vivir Muchos Años, Bien - es hacer demasiadas y demasiadas grandes estupideces

El quinto sembradío es el sembradío quizás más controversial: de hábitos y actitudes que NO deberías hacer, es como decir: “NO cultives estas malas hierbas”.

Se trata de hábitos y actitudes, a veces muy obvios (como no cruzar la carretera de alta velocidad, blindado y borracho), pero al igual se trata de hábitos y actitudes que todos reconocemos o, efectivamente, “recordamos” – de alguna manera.

Lo que sugiero aquí sembrar, cuidar y cosechar, sería un estar consciente de auqellos de nuestros hábitos y actitudes, que, de manera más o menos obvio, podrían cortar las posibilidades de cada uno de nosotros de vivir (muchos) años más en salud dichosa.

Perhaps the biggest obstacle to living many good, healthy years is doing too many foolish—or outright dangerous—things.

The fifth "Sowing Field" may be the most controversial of the five proposed in episode 0525: it's about habits and attitudes you shouldn’t cultivate. In other words: how not to grow weeds.

This has to do with certain habits and mindsets - some are obvious (like not crossing a busy highway while drunk and blindfolded), but others are more subtle.

Most of us do recognise them - or at least somehow remember them from experience.

What I’m suggesting here is that we “plant,” care for, and eventually “harvest” a kind of awareness:

awareness of the habits and attitudes that, in more or less obvious ways, could limit or even ruin our chances of living many more years in joyful, vibrant health – and learn to “flip” them!

910.MX, ep 0825: 4° Sembradío: Dejar Huella

Significar algo bueno para los demás; no pasar la vida desapercibido

El el episodio pasado hablamos de aquellas actitudes (Actitud Positiva, Optimista, Proactiva y Expansiva) que sin duda alguna, ayudan a vivir muchos más años, mejor.

También hablamos de que todos conocemos algunas personas que, aunque muy mayor, iluminan su espacio, que impresionan por estar tan bien;

que tienen un genuino interés en los demás, en su bienestar.

Claramente, no es un ambiente de “tu me das, yo te doy”.

Estas personas siempre muestran un deseo por conocer, crecer, entender:

te vas con más que con que llegaste.

¡dejan huella, pues!

Ojo:

Esto no viene así nada más;

Esto es, aunque no muy consciente, intencional.

Les cuesta cierta energía:

es porque estas personas quieren vivir así

y que tienen la experiencia de vida para saber que

así se vive mejor

No es un impresionar por impresionar;

es vivir un deseo de dejar al mundo mejor que como lo encontraste

To Mean Something Good to Others; To Not Go Through Life Unnoticed

In the last episode, we talked about four different attitudes - Positive, Optimistic, Proactive and Expansive - that, without a doubt, help us live not only longer but better.

We also mentioned how we all know a few people who, even in very advanced age, light up a room - who impress us with how well they’re doing, who show a genuine interest in others and in their well-being.

Clearly, this isn’t some kind of “you give me, I’ll give you” dynamic.

These are people who consistently show a desire to learn, grow, and understand. You leave their presence with more than you came in with.

They leave a mark.

But let’s be clear: This doesn’t just happen by chance. Even if it’s not entirely conscious, it definitely is intentional.

It takes effort. These are people who choose to live this way— and who have enough life experience to know that this is a better way to live.

It’s not about impressing others for the sake of impressing others.

It’s about living out a deep wish to leave the world better than they found it.

No es un lujo, cultivar una actitud optimista, positiva y proactiva. Yo lo veo (y lo vivo) como fundamental para vivirlo mejor en esos décadas que vienen.

Todos conocemos unas personas que destacan, aún en muy avanzada edad, en su presencia: aquellos que parecen brillar, que llenan el lugar de luz, que son verdaderamente interesante - y que te hacen pensar: “wauw! Cómo lo hace para estar tán bien?!”

Alguna vez haz conocido alguien así, y que sea pesimista, negativa y/o pasiva??....

Positive, Optimistic, and Proactive Attitude

Cultivating an optimistic, positive, and proactive attitude is not a luxury.

We all know at least one person that stands out - even at a very advanced age - for their glowing presence: those who seem to shine, who fill the space with light, who are genuinely interesting;

who make you think, “Wow! How do they manage to be so well?”

Have you ever met someone like that - who is pessimistic, negative, and/or passive?

Hoy tratamos el segundo de los cinco sembradíos que pueden ayudarte a vivir más años, mejor, en las décadas que vienen —hasta los cien (¡o más!) años:

Seguir físicamente activo y hacer ejercicio (x3) “Use it or lose it” —si haces lo mismo todos los días, poco a poco irás perdiendo capacidades. Pero si entrenas (x3: cardiovascular, fuerza muscular y flexibilidad), con constancia, ¡las mantienes!

Ejemplos sencillos: subir y bajar escaleras, y mantener el equilibrio... poniéndote los calcetines ¡de pie!

Today, we’re diving into the second one:

Staying physically active and exercising - times three. You’ve heard it before: “Use it or lose it.” If you do the same thing every day, over time, your physical abilities will slowly fade. But if you train consistently, you maintain them —and even improve them.

Times three: exercise your cardiovascular system, build muscle and maintain flexibility.

Easy examples: taking the stairs. Or something as everyday as putting on your socks… while standing up!

In our (everybody’s-) modern lives however, we tend to take on, day upon day, a giant size of bucket full and we tend to be silently confident that our Todo Tu will take care of all of it.

Even if, realistically, we know all too well what happens - if we keep on overburdening our Todo Tu, day after day after day…
