In the market report for week commencing 13th July 2020 we get Andrew’s latest insights into what the markets are doing, as he wonders whether it will rain or shine on St Swithin’s Day.

In Farmchat Andrew is joined by Ian Deane, Health and Safety Director at Aylsham Grain Ltd. and farmer member of the store, to discuss the range of new procedures in place to keep everyone safe during harvest.

Ian farms on the coast and, with his wife, has converted barns and other properties into holiday lets and a wedding / party venue. It is, of course, an industry that has been heavily affected by Covid-19 but, with the rise of the staycation, there’s every confidence that things will pick up.

Ian drew the short straw took on the role of Health and Safety Director at Aylsham Grain and, with harvest 2020 set against the backdrop of Covid-19, the culture of health and safety is one that needs to be taken seriously.
