Today I’m joined by my long time friends Peggy and Margaret to discuss the camaraderie and learning opportunities that come with playing alongside different golfers, especially when joining a women's league or participating in a WGA tournament and explore the significant role women play in country club governance.
Peggy, a seasoned country club member, shares her experience in setting up an employee scholarship program, and gives her thoughts on the need for more women's voices in these clubs while breaking down the unfair blame they often receive for slow play.
She and Margaret also discuss their experiences participating in golf club tournaments and the importance of having an inclusive environment when welcoming new players. We talk about strategies to increase participation in club championships and the role of technology in scoring, and stress the importance of balancing fun and competitive play while maintaining the integrity of handicap indexes.
We also tackle widespread shifts in pace of play expectations, tips on improving your own pace of play, and the challenges of fair play and handicap management in a league.
