Did you know there is a bigger Christmas story? One that includes the entire Bible starting with Genesis? Jesus didn’t just begin when the virgin Mary conceiving a son by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Preeminence of Christ was written about by Paul in the New Testament. Genesis mentions the first prophecy of Jesus. This is not to diminish the power of our current Christmas plays, but we must allow the whole Bible to give us the full revelation of what Christmas means.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it”. ~John 1:1-5

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him”. ~Colossians 1:15-16

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” ~Isaiah 7:14

“But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” ~Isaiah 53:5-6
