  • Episode #16: Your Gut Knows Best. Allow Your Intuition to Be Your Guide

How many times have you ignored red flags even though you knew with every fiber of your being that whatever situation you were in was wrong?

How many times have you let your ego trample over your intuition because you wanted the truth to be different?

I am a highly intuitive human being, a gift that I have ignored until last year. Allowing my intuition and gut feelings to be my guiding force in life was not something I allowed until last year. My ego, attachment issues, and overall poor choices have pushed me down paths not meant for me and have kept me in situations much longer than I needed to be.

Your gut knows best. Your intuition is there to guide you. And if you can allow this to help move you through life, you can save yourself from a lot of hardship.

  • Episode #14: Part Two: Postpartum Depression During The Pandemic, Matrescence, and The Absolute Bullshit That Is The Care For Mothers In The United States

Matrescence: the process of becoming a mother.

A word that I happened to stumble across as I frantically Googled why I felt like a completely different human after having my son. I felt as if every part of being had changed, and I didn't recognize the woman that I saw in the mirror.

There is endless information and advice given to women on how to take care of their babies. Anything you need to know, you can access it, whether it be from family, friends, books, or the internet.

But when it comes to taking care of yourself, and how you at your core will change and shift after that baby leaves your body? This is not something that is spoken about enough.

No one could have prepared me for how I would have felt when I went from being "just Biz" to being "mom".

  • Episode #12: Sebastian's Birth Story

Yesterday was my baby boys birthday.

4 years old, I cannot believe it.

This sweet child of mine took his sweet time joining us earth side, as it took him 44 hours to get out of my body...

It's been a while since I've sat and relived this moment, the best moment of my life.

To my fellow mamas listening, what was the most difficult part of labor? I would love to hear!

  • Episode #11: A Conversation With Bri Biffath: Bad Dates, Dating Apps, and How Our Relationship With Sex Has Changed Over The Years

Dating in 2023...what an absolute fucking shitshow, am I right?

I had the pleasure of sitting down with my good friend Bri, and we had a completely unfiltered conversation about our own personal experiences as of late in terms of dating, dating apps, sex, and how our personal relationship with sex has changed over the years.

DISCLAIMER: This episode is raw with some R-rated details...so if you aren't interested in hearing such things, this episode isn't for you!

  • Episode #10: People Pleasing, Holding Boundaries, and Saying "No".

How do we find the balance between showing up for the people that we love, and holding firm boundaries so we can show up for ourselves?

I have struggled with people-pleasing tendencies since I was a child, and it wasn't until a few years ago that I learned the term "people-pleaser" and dove into the meaning behind it that I realized that, oh shit...that's me. (el-oh-el)

Making sacrifices and showing up for the people that we love is a must.

But when you are repeatedly saying yes to things that are negatively affecting you in order to show up for someone else, is this helping or hurting?

There is a balance that must be found.

You can't truly be there for someone else if you aren't taking care of you, first.

  • Episode #9: Moms - How The FUCK Are We Supposed To Do It All? Seriously, Someone Tell Me.

Hey, real quick, can someone send over the manual on how to successfully be a mom while also working full time while also taking care of myself while also chasing my dreams? No? There isn't one?

Just recently, I have run full force into the biggest wall of burn out that I've ever encountered. This was right up there with the exhaustion I felt after giving birth and caring for a newborn, no joke. I was trying to do too much and like any normal human, I couldn't handle it. A lot of this being my fault, as I am the queen of thinking I'm sort of superhuman who doesn't have to sleep or eat regularly like normal people.

But a lot of this, honestly, is submitting to societal pressures.

Mothers are expected to do so much on top of simply just being a mom, as if that is simple. And we try to keep up, but we can't. And I know I can't be the only one who somehow thinks I am failing when I am unable to complete 4 million tasks in one day?

It has gotten out of control and as a society, we have to do better and stop with the pressure and unrealistic expectations.

But I believe in the power of baby steps, and in the power of building small micro habits to build an easier life.

Moms - what is one small thing that you do that makes your day to day life easier? What small suggestion (without being judgmental, please, not dealing with that shit here, thanks) can you offer other moms to help them ease the everyday stressors of just existing in this incredibly beautiful and rewarding but downright taxing role as "mom"?

  • Episode #8: Reassess, Regroup, Restart

I am an all-or-nothing kind of human.

I have been known to dive in head first into anything and everything that sparks a light of passion in me.

This podcast and blog? A dream of mine in the making for almost a decade.

Did I take into consideration everything else I have going on in my life before I committed to doing this once a week? In true Biz fashion, I sure didn't!

Last week I was unable to put out last week's episode, as I simply just did not have the time.

So I took the week, I reassessed my vision for this platform, I regrouped and came up with a new plan and I began again.

We are all capable of so much, but it is also important to look at reality and make sure we aren't putting too much on our plates.

You will never reach the finish line if you burn yourself out. Slow and steady wins the race.

  • Episode #7: A Little Pep Talk - Your Value Is Not Based Around What You Do For A Living
It took me a long time to accept the following:
1.) My value is not based around what I do for a living
2.) There will always be someone that judges you, that won't understand the choices that you make, and that has something to say. You cannot let this affect you.
3.) Life is meant to enjoyed. And to fully enjoy my life, I had to let go of the pressures I felt from self-judgement, family, friends, and society.
