Why do people still struggle with food… even when they know exactly what to eat?
For years, dietitians have been trained to focus on meal plans, calories, and nutrition advice. But many of us eventually run into the same frustrating reality: knowing what to eat doesn’t always translate into lasting change.
In this episode, I sit down with registered dietitian Cassy Rivard to talk about the deeper layer of behavior change that most nutrition training never touches.
Cassy and I actually went to the same university to become dietitians. We learned the same frameworks and approaches to helping people change their eating habits.
But after working with clients, and facing some of our own struggles with food, we both started asking a deeper question:What actually creates real change with food?
That question eventually led Cassy into the deeper work we explore inside Mastering Mindfulness, understanding the psychology, nervous system, and inner patterns that drive our choices around food.
In this conversation, we explore:
• Why nutrition knowledge alone doesn’t create lasting change
• The hidden role of the nervous system in food behavior
• How restriction and stress can quietly drive overeating
• The mindset patterns that create the binge spiral
• The deeper inner work that helps people finally feel calm and empowered with food
This episode is part of what I see as a new era in nutrition, one where we move beyond simply telling people what to eat and start helping them understand the deeper forces that shape their behavior.
If you’ve ever wondered why healthy eating can still feel like such a struggle, this conversation will open your eyes to a completely different way of understanding food and change.
If you're a health professional or dietitian curious about implementing the methods in your practice to improve client results...
