What do you do when you hospital system starts changing contracts and you start getting paid less?

Stick with the conditions and skills you have that you are Great at, not Good at. How to know when you should just refer out something that you could technically do but you know another person is better at?

Should u hire a Physician Assistant: Any drawbacks, perks, compensation, and training?

Is it better to hire a physician assistant who has no experience in your field or to fine tune someone who has been it in for a while? What and when are some of the best way to train your Advanced Practice Providers, physician assistant and staff?

Dr. Ledet goes over the different pay structures of a physician assistant (advanced practice providers) and is it worth hiring them or just another doctor in your same field?

He likes one topic, once a week and not on weekends so you can have more time with family.

Why is documentation for yourself and Advanced Practice Providers so important.

Even though nurses don’t directly bill the bottom line of the hospital, what effect do they have on care and the office?

Why is the consultation before doing any procedures on a patient vitally important?

How does location depend on how much room for negotiation you can request for a salary? You have to know what you bring to the table and what your value is worth… how do you estimate that?

Private practice vs hospital system: does private practice actually allow you to make more revenue or does it have hidden costs that may not have been factored in before leaving a good hospital career?

Why is it that hospital can negotiate contracts with insurance companies but individual practices usually have to take what the insurance gives them?

Why is the average physician on their second job within 5 years?

Everything you tell a patient before XYZ is education, everything you say after XYZ is an excuse in the patients eyes.

When you have a 7 week waiting list to get in, and you have to cancel appointments because of the doctors own family illness, how to you present that to the patient as well as getting them rescheduled?

When working as a hospital system doctor, when you have clashes and disagreements with your team, can you discipline or does it have to be channeled with managers?

Being an African American male doctor, how do you handle patients when they mistake you for the “help” or say things like, “oh are you the doctor?” He gives a couple of good examples of handling and diffusing the situation without getting upset.

Has he ever had to fire a patient for being racist?

What is being an Uncle Tom or acting white mean and have you experienced it from your own family? How can you or someone else diffuse that situation if they find their friends and family mention it often?

How do the number of online reviews, star rating, and freshness of reviews play into your reputation marketing? The keys are to protect, build, market, and monitor your online reputation via reviews. Philippe LeCoutre explains even more details.

Philippe LeCoutre company Reputation Aegis has clients across the globe in 69 countries with over 650 review sites. Over his 25 year work history in sales and marketing he has worked with big names like Wal-Mart, Costco etc.. Eleven years ago they built a system to ask, gather, distribute and monitor reviews for doctor offices and other businesses. The site for doctors and the one you should visit is: Getmorepatients.reviews

Their platform monitors 650 websites (including the doctor review based ones) and if anyone leaves a review, the client is notified. This is extra convenient if it is a negative review so you can try to handle it.

A big strategy is to automate the asking for a review and for the patient to write the review within their platform. What’s the benefit of owning the review versus just asking the patient to review straight on Google.

What is an intelligence feedback based referral system of collection? What does the system do when it’s negative? Listen to a great feature that they have that immediately markets and broadcasts that review when it’s positive.

Reviews aren’t just for your benefit; they can help potential patients find the right practitioner.

Difference between reputation management and reputation marketing

How do referrals, influencers or Reviews play into the equation.

7/10 people will leave a review if asked, 73% believe 3 month old or older reviews are irrelevant? Really?

94% of 35+ year olds check a review before buying and 97% of 18-35 years old will check reviews.

How do you get that reputation domination for a local doctor office?

What can we do to not get bad reviews to begin with? How do we handle bad reviews? What are a few ways to get massive insight from these bad reviews?

Why is a pure 5 star review not really desired , how often are positive reviews really given and why you shouldn’t fear negative reviews?

Should you apologize, explain how systems in the office are better now, offer to remedy the problem, berate the person who left the review or violate HIPAA while telling your side of the story… which is a good option?

While we can not guarantee results as a doctor, what can we guarantee about the office; especially if we don’t live up to that promise?

What are some of the FTC and ICPN rules and regulations surrounding reviews because it is legally regulated?

Did you know if you leave fake reviews, you can get fined up to $40,000?

Can you bribe for reviews? What about contests?

What is Gating Reviews and Purchasing Reviews? You can not legally ask someone to leave a review only if it is positive and if you get a review no matter if it is good or bad you have to publish it. Listen for more details.

He figured he isn’t the only one in this niche so he interviews guest that align with that mission and avatar. As of August 2018 he has 35+ episodes and it’s been airing for 18 months.

Terry Fox gives a little bit of a highlight reel on some of his more popular guests and episodes.

Marketing: Referrals and word of mouth from patients, weekly Networking Groups (BNI as example) or Speaking Groups, writing for his blog and podcasting … ultimately he got a business coach and that made a dramatic difference on his clinic. Get out of your comfort zone, embrace your fear and stretch yourself.

Relationships: Powerful story about his young son battling an illness and then his own struggle with “acting like a man” and keeping your feelings bottled up dealing with that situation and how that lead him to a counselor because of some consequences that was creeping into his life… it’s not what you think but its super important with recent celebrities in the news.

Dr. Arton had the courage to leave a comfortable, reliable family business and become a Doctor of Chiropractic. Why did she do it? Also she has one of those “chiropractic helped me when the other doctors couldn’t” stories.

She had a small clinic in Tennessee and Louisiana, has done some fill in work, is a singer and songwriter and now is a faculty member at Texas Chiropractic College with a focus on palpation and adjustment courses.

What are her thoughts on the biggest misconception in chiropractic? Part of her answer is that medical doctors understand what we do but the patient perspective is still not as positive as it could be.

Dr. Amy Arton is a songwriter and she has made many decisions in life based on developing her skills in this area. She would always sing the dedication song for the cadavers that were used in school. It is a huge honor to use them for our education and she felt like nothing really captured how important that is.

She decided to write her own song for just this situation. Universities across the country have shown interest in her cadaver dedication song and she is hopeful that they will be incorporated into the ceremonies.

From Zimbabwe, moved to America at 14, had two babies by the age of 21 (still not an American citizen) (also not a healthy relationship so divorced) but she never lost her passion to be a surgical doctor. Listen how she went from a steady critical care nurse career to finishing 60 hours of college in one year along with passing the MCAT as a single mom. Now Dr. Praise Matemavi has finished Michigan State Osteopathic School, did a fellowship at New York Presbyterian in Queens and is now at the University of Nebraska for fellowship (she finishes in one year). Her specialty is multivisceral transplants (liver, pancreas, kidneys and bowels).

Dr. Praise has a dream of going back to Zimbabwe one day to do kidney transplants (one day liver transplants) so the citizens do not have to travel to another country for the surgery. This is actually a challenging scenario because although some programs like this are available in countries like Ethiopia already, it would be new to Zimbabwe.

Her father moved the family to America because of her dream since the age of 10 to be a doctor. He is a pastor and his daughter got pregnant and became a nurse. Her mother also had an opinion on the situation. Take a listen to how impactful family is on your life decisions.
