watching these vloggers while they were in the spotlight i wish their parents would’ve taken more control when they were minors and fostered a relationship with their kids to give them some stability at home and examples of positive healthy relationships and coparenting practices i understand in most situations the lack of the things i listed prior are the reasons that these moms became teen moms but i think that by doing things like offering their kids their home to get comfortable and on their feet would have prevented them from falling down the youtube pipeline and then being so reliant on exploiting their kids for income
at the end of the day these young parents would eventually become adults but i think of can and fam and ok baby who moved out on their own as teenagers and moved away from their families states away in okbabys case and i feel like them living on their own and tasting that youtube money got them obsessed with it and they just weren’t mature enough to realize what could happen in the future
i think it’s great that a lot of these cloggers are starting to take their kids offline i have been keeping up with kyra and i think she’s deciding to not show her kids anymore and i think that’s awesome
but hearing camryn talk about like collecting teen moms on the scene and collaborating them just made so many suspicions i had about the teen mom community feel true i feel like when these girls got pregnant they thought about then teen mom success and the old school og teen mom youtubers like jessfam and saw a way out it’s very scary and impressionable and i think about catelynn and tyler in particular i remember on a later episode when they felt so awful about giving carlie up because they never thought they would be successful especially because of teen mom and how they wished they would’ve kept her and been able to have a family especially considering a little under 10 years later they had more children but i think to me it’s also admirable because what if they weren’t successful what if they were struggling they made the decision they thought was right at the time and i think a lot of people who have kids young do the opposite they dream for the stars and get let down
parents should’ve been telling their kids that youtube isn’t sustainable that influencer money isn’t forever hell i think of cullen and katie who were full fledge adults and got caught up trying to keep up with the jones’ because of the family youtube gig $ and were like 100,000 in debt
we all have to learn how to be financially literate and sometimes you have to take a risk but the risks that these vloggers make is a lot bigger and impacts a lot more people than some because their kids are at risk
one thing i think cam failed to discuss and share her opinion on is what do you do when it dies down or when you don’t know where to turn next when your kids are your meal ticket but you don’t feel morally right sharing them how do you decide what to do next and how does it feel to realize that you have been exploiting your kids and their trauma in some situations for clout and money
what skills can you take from youtube and being and influencer and transfer to other careers and avenues of making money and to that i say there are so many things these moms can do i think of britney and baby and kkandbabyj and elleandbabes and even oscar’s mom korrina the birthday parties these ladies have put on for these kids are beautiful they could easily make online businesses being party planners and have videos showcasing how they put them together and decorate without posting/exploiting their children
cam and fam khoa nguyen oscar and kyra are all beautiful video editors i know cam did it on the side and all of these people have their own channels but they could edit videos for people
