Our stories today all hold a seed of love and romance for the villagers of Nothing Much. We’ll start with our title story, on a walk downtown as the not-quite spring sunshine warms hearts and faces. We’ll find a photo hiding in the back of a wallet and initials carved into a bench that has a story to tell. Next, we’ll build up a bit of courage and travel to the flower shop downtown. We’ll pick our a bouquet and have it wrapped up with a satin ribbon in Hearts and Flowers. Last, we’ll reminisce about the potent message that can be sent by compiling the perfect musical message in Mix Tape.

A Little Romance

In the Village of Nothing Much, everyday life is full of glimmers of ordinary magic. I should say, if you are new here, that all of our stories take place in the same universe and sometimes you’ll recognize a narrator from a previous tale or see some overlap of story lines. We’ll see that today. We’ll start with The Lilac Thief as she pulls off a heist on a dusty country road. Then we’ll step out onto the porch and enjoy the gloaming in Strawberry Moon. Finally we’ll revisit the reformed thief as she shares her favorite flowers in the Lilac Grower.

The Lady in the Painting

Our stories today highlight some of the loveliest simple pleasures of the spring. A walk, a road trip, a day in the garden. We’ll start with one of my all-time favorite stories and one that inspired me to write a whole book (coming soon!). It’s called Old Houses and if you’ve ever walked through a neighborhood and wondered about the stories of the houses you see, the people who have lived there, it is for you. Then we’ll load up the car and head out to The Hideaway for some time at the Cabin. Finally, we’ll gather our trowels and seed packets and pace out the garden in Spring at the Allotment.
