The New York Yankees have another Roberto Clemente Award winner! This time, it was Captain Aaron Judge’s turn to win the honor which was bestowed upon Derek Jeter way back in 2009. In case you don’t know about the award: “The Roberto Clemente Award is bestowed annually to the player who best represents the game of Baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy, and positive contributions, both on and off the field.” Judge spoke to the media in Arizona ahead of Game Three of the World Series and discussed what winning the award means to him, and he talked about how he thought about how he could give back to the community as early as draft day way back in 2013. Stacey and Steve discuss the importance of the award and basically gush about how cool a dude Judge is. Then, they talk about the significance of the 2023-24 offseason. They discuss the reasons why it’s so important for the Yankees and, more specifically, the front office and Brian Cashman and wonder what would happen if the offseason is a bad one and the Yankees continue down a bad path in 2024.
