Police have arrested a man and a woman as they continue their investigation into the movements of police killer Dezi Freeman. 

Police say they are associates of Freeman and not family members. 

The arrests were made at two properties in north east Victoria.

They will now be interviewed by police.

Officials in the United States say US forces are still searching for a pilot after two American warplanes were downed over Iran and the Gulf.

The U-S and Iran say two pilots were rescued by US forces… but a third is still missing and Iran says its troops are hunting for them.

The first plane, a two-seat F-15 jet, was shot down by Iranian ​fire, while the second, an A-10 ‌Warthog fighter aircraft, was also hit by Iranian fire and crashed over Kuwait, with the pilot ejecting.

The incidents come despite assertions from US President Donald Trump and his Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that US forces have total control of the skies over Iran.

Federal Energy Minister Chris Bowen has confirmed fuel from the US, Mexico and other countries is in transit to Australia.

The country has traditionally sourced most of its fuel from Asia.

Mr Bowen says more than 50 ships are on their way and maintains six cancelled orders have been replaced with extra cargo.

But industry leaders say Australia's reliance on imports leaves it exposed to ongoing global disruptions.

And as Daylight Savings comes to an end tonight, firefighting authorities are reminding people that smoke alarms need to be completely replaced about every 10 years.

Clocks will go back by one hour overnight tonight as the nation heads towards the cooler months, and Adelaide Metropolitan Fire Service says is a good time to ensure smoke alarms are working properly and cleaned regularly.

US forces are continuing to search for a missing serviceman in Iran after Tehran shot down two fighter jets.

An F-15 was downed over central Iran, while an A-10 aircraft involved in the search and rescue operation was also shot down but the pilot managed to eject to safety.

A joint Israeli American mission is underway to rescue the third missing crew member as Iranian officials announce a bounty for bringing him in alive.

A spokesperson for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard celebrated the downing of the F-15 and mocked US President Trump on state television.

The federal government has revealed an improvement in the number of petrol station outages across the country.

Australia currently has 39 days worth of petrol, 29 days diesel and 30 days of jet fuel.

The figures come from the latest weekly update provided by the Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen.

He says progress has been made in service station outages across all states and territories.

A French owned cargo ship has passed through the Strait of Hormuz.

It's thought to be the first Western vessel to transit the Strait since Iran shut down the key waterway after the U-S and Israel attacked the country.

It's not clear how the ship secured safe passage.

And, NASA's Artemis Two astronauts have captured images of the Earth as they continue their journey to the Moon.

The first photo shows a curved slice of the Earth through a window of the Orion space capsule , while the second shows the entire globe.

US officials say two Blackhawk helicopters involved in the search effort for a downed American fighter jet were hit by Iranian fire but managed to escape and land safely.

A number of the crew were reportedly wounded by the small arms fire.

It comes after Iran claimed to have shot down two US aircraft, an F-15 Strike Eagle and an A-10 Warthog.

One of the crew members from the F-15 has been rescued, while the pilot of the A-10 — which was involved in the search and rescue effort — managed to eject over the Gulf and has been recovered.

More than 50 fuel shipments are on their way to Australia, as the federal government moves to shore up supply amid a global energy crisis.

Energy minister Chris Bowen says 53 ships carrying 3.7 billion litres of fuel are expected to arrive this month, after talks with international suppliers.

However, freight operators say delays and cancellations remain a real risk — warning the shipments won't cover a full month of national demand.

Australian children can now have a nasal spray vaccine for influenza — rather than an injection.

The needle-free influenza vaccine is now available for children and teenagers aged from two to 17 years old.

Health authorities hope the spray vaccine will boost the number of children vaccinated this flu season.

A desperate US search and rescue operation is reportedly underway after an American fighter was jet shot down in Iran.

US media is reporting one crew member has been rescued after the fighter jet was shot down in southwest Iran.

The aircraft is believed to be an F15E, a two-crew member jet.

The Pentagon and US Central Command have not yet publicly commented on the incident.

Since the war began, 13 US military service members have been killed.

Israel has pounded Lebanon's capital ​Beirut with airstrikes that the military says targeted militant "infrastructure".

The attack came after the Israeli military told residents to leave seven neighbourhoods in the southern suburbs, warning of impending strikes.

There are concerns billions of litres of fuel bound for Australia may do little to ease pressure, as shortages continue to spread nationwide.

SA police say a seven-year-old girl has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after an all terrain vehicle rollover at Yattalunga north-east of Adelaide.

Hundreds of service stations have run out of fuel across the country, as Australians hit the road this Easter long weekend.

Energy Minister Chris Bown says 410 stations are out of diesel and another 145 stations are out of unleaded petrol.

But he says 53 ships carrying fuel are on their way to Australia from refineries in Asia, the United States and Mexico, and are expected to arrive this month.

There's little sign of the war in the Middle East winding down as Israel, Kuwait and Bahrain all report coming under missile and drone attack from Iran.

The strikes come as Iran says eight people were killed and dozens injured near a major bridge hit by the US.

In a social media post, US President Donald Trump has continued to claim the threat from Iran is nearly eliminated, and says electric power plants will be next.

The Australian government has responded to US president Donald Trump's announcement to impose 100 per cent tariffs on drug imports.

In a statement to the ABC, a spokesperson for trade and tourism minister Don Farrell says the Albanese government will continue to make the strongest case for the removal of unjustified and unwarranted tariffs.

The US government has been critical of Australia's pharmaceutical benefits scheme.

But Minister Farrell says Labor will never negotiate on the design of the PBS.

Independent MP Kate Chaney says she will push the federal government to go further in its crackdown on gambling.

The government has announced plans to cap the number of gambling ads on daytime TV, and to ban ads on sports jerseys and online platforms for under 18s.

Ms Chaney says a major parliamentary report recommended a national online gambling regulator be established.

US President Donald Trump has shared a video on social media of what he says was a strike on a major bridge in Iran, warning Tehran should make a deal "before it is too late".
