Fuel prices have somewhat stabilised for motorists over Easter but demand remains high, and dozens of service stations remain without diesel.

The Federal Government is assuring Australians that shipments of fuel have been secured through April and into May.

Energy minister Chris Bowen says 3 point four per cent of Australia's service stations are currently without diesel - but that the government is working hard to get that percentage down to zero.
