Tight security is surrounding the visit to Australia this week of Israeli president Isaac Herzog, which is sparking anger from pro Palestinian protesters.

The Federal Government invited him as an act of solidarity with Jewish people following the Bondi attack.

But Israel's conduct in Gaza, and the fact Isaac Herzog's past comments about the war have been used in a genocide case, are stoking anger.

Protesters have also been fighting police in court over where they can demonstrate.

Liberal leader Sussan Ley and Nationals leader David Littleproud are expected to announce the Coalition will reunite at a press conference in Canberra today.

ABC News understands the two parties have reformed in the wake of their second split since May after three Nationals senators voted against the government's hate speech laws, breaching cabinet solidarity.

A draft document seen by the ABC says each shadow minister will return to their previously held roles on March 1 with all shadow ministers set to sign a new agreement that they won't breach Coalition party positions.

Severe tropical cyclone Mitchell is expected to cross Western Australia's west Pilbara coast later today or this evening as a category three system.

Destructive wind gusts close to 200 kilometres per hour are forecast for coastal parts of the Pilbara around Karratha, Dampier and Wickham.

The Bureau of Meteorology's Angus Hines says heavy rains are also expected, prompting a number of flood warnings.
