Aboard the Opal Star

Now that everyone has settled down from the shocking discoveries of the morning, it is time for an evening of magic and delight. The circus is in town and our friends are in for a real treat. They have heard some tales of how the Alliance came to be, but they have barely begun to scratch the surface of the history of this part of the universe. The talented performers of the Cirq Deliri promise to weave an astounding tale of one of the first interracial collaborations. There also is a hint of a new friend to be met after the show.

2020 was a crazy year full of stress and uncertainty. But it was also full of creation for me, as I once again dove into storytelling to find a way to process everything that was going on. This helped me further realize what I want to do with my life and that life is short, so why not go for it. 

I have always been and will always be a storyteller at heart. I created Pseudonym Social to change reality one story at a time, but there is only so much I can do on my own. That's why in the new year I want to continue building my community so we can keep telling amazing stories together. Because I can't do this alone and honestly, I don't want to.

Anima is still reeling from the revelation of how she was created when, in an attempt to break her out of a stupor, Faridah accidentally breaks her door down. The party separates to process this information alone, scattering around the house. Kyshara helps Anima talk through her fears of how her friends will react to this news, as well as what secrets could be lurking in her missing memories. Meanwhile, Faridah and Vaelena do some research into the Ashenforged and where they fit in this part of space. A few tears are shed.

The crucibles are some of the biggest enigmas in the universe and our friends know little to nothing about them. Today they get a chance to see one of them up close and learn more of their mystery and their impact on the universe around them. Let’s see what they learn.

After a day of travel and shopping, the party settles in for a homecooked meal with their friends. Anima learns a new recipe and finds that some of the cooking implements are more familiar than she realized. Kyshara has made plans for the party to go and see the crucible in the morning, which will be their first time getting to see one of these enigmas up close.

But first, it is time for a laid back movie night complete with goodies from the candy cabinet.

The Opal Star lands safely on the planet on Sundraria, where they will be staying with Talimira's cousin Ilvisar. It will take a few days for the scout to fully regain their energy so in the meantime, it is time for some actual downtime. The party goes on a nice little shopping trip to get a better feel for their new world before a laid back movie night.

In a shocking turn of events, Alexander sacrifices himself to ensure that Marisa goes to her grave. A great evil has been removed from the land before it could truly begin a reign of terror. With his final breath, Alexander makes a wish that gifts the party with things they didn't even know they needed. 

And so our friends part ways, not yet aware just how much that single night has changed the trajectory of their lives.

After an encounter with some skeletons, the party continues their exploration of the downstairs to make sure they didn't miss anything. Yndrss notices another strange note in the dining hall, telling the party that the last piece of the puzzle lies upstairs in the master bedroom. They also notice the scent of blood coming from the storeroom, which may be where the downstairs is located. Following the mysterious instructions, they make their way upstairs and the man shows them a memory that fills in the missing pieces and finally explains why they were brought there.

Armed with the truth, they begin their descent down into the den of death. Along the way another curse will be revealed as the two half brothers fight to not let the wolf take control.

The pieces of the story are falling into place. A man falling pray to the charms of a woman who is not all she appears to be. Their slow descent into darkness, hers willing, his not. People falling prey to her hunger for power and his unwillingness to believe that anyone could do that to another. Vampires old enough to cause the Hunter concern. There is also a nasty surprise waiting for them in the private study. There are still some pieces missing though.
