On October 10, 2019, Arabella Parker, a three year-old child in Trevorton, Pennsylvania was brutally beaten by her mother's boyfriend Jahrid Burgess. Arabella held on to every last inch of life for 44 days in Geisinger Medical Center. She passed away on November 22, 2019, two days after she was removed from life support.
This case is not a who done it. Nonetheless, it leads to many questions about the systems we have in place and how they allowed for an outcome like this one.

Last week, Scott Schaeffer told us his story. In 1989 he was arrested and convicted of the homicide of Rickey Wolfe, a man he claims he had never before met. Roy Hummel, who was also arrested for the crime, testified that Scott was involved. 17 years later, he recanted his testimony and Scott was released from prison.
Today, Scott continues to fight a legal battle to have his name cleared of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and conspiracy to commit third-degree murder. He pled "no contest" to these charges in order to be released from prison in 2006. Attorney Joel Wiest represents Scott Schaeffer in the courtroom and is joining us today to explain their efforts.

Prior to his preliminary hearing, Barbara Miller left a voicemail for Scott's fiancé stating that is he and Billy Hendricks were not released at their pre-trial hearings, she would come forward with evidence that would prove their innocence. It was only days later that she went missing.

After the various searches discussed in the previous episode, police conducted two more searches that, to our knowledge, have not been reported by the media. One of the searches involves a suspect that was mentioned in episode 2, Harry Catherman. The second was a spot in the Susquehanna River, and while the location, itself, might not sound suspicious, what the crane pulled out certainly looked it.
