Action RC

Welcome to Ep 14 of this podcast series reflecting on 80’s 90’s R/C racing in Australia. Today we hand over the reigns of the podcast to Sydney's Chris Lander, as he hosts a father/son duo who featured heavily in the Qld and National scene both on and off the track since the mid-1980s, known for their involvement with Schumacher, contributing to Racing Lines magazine and helping to shape the sport. Against my better judgement....this weeks' guests are David "Heavy" Guyatt and Scott Guyatt.

From leaping onto a hobbyshop counter, to repairing a thousand Tamiya Hotshots, to stories of new race tracks and driving Australia's fastest Boomerang...this chat with Ray Wood will have you laughing along and remembering the good times. Enjoy!

This episode is an absolute delight. We join Andrew Bolton for the inside scoop on winning in Australia, inside the factory Team Associated Worlds effort, a look into the business side of R/C and more. Enjoy!

It's our second brother-duo, this time South Australians Andrew and Chris Reade. The Reade family is Australian R/C royalty, synonymous with winning, industry support and the much loved Rob Reade - father to the dynamic duo. This chat focusses on 8th on-road, with some surprising dips into other categories along the way. Enjoy!

He's still the winningest ever in 10th Offroad when it comes to National Championships. Join us as we chat Jethoppers, regional Victoria, rising through the ranks, and the challenges of moving to 8th Offroad. Welcome Matt Griffin.

It's our first deep dive into EP on-road, and for that journey we join Victoria's Andrew Abbott. We talk origins, the rise of EP touring cars, the mighty Team Associated TC3 and more. Enjoy!

Welcome to this Action RC podcast series reflecting on 80’s and 90’s R/C racing in Australia. Today we go back, way back, to the halcyon days of the mid-80's and the extraordinary development of 4wd off-road chassis here in Australia. We talk through three of the best cars, and on the way pick out some of the genuine legends of the sport over that period with names like Bartolozzi, Grenenger, Bolton and Wood crossing our radar. My guest and guide today is long time racer and vintage writer/builder/mechanic Darryn Johnson of Retro R/C Racer fame. Enjoy the chat.

When it comes to vintage R/C cars, there isn't much that Darryn Johnson doesn't know. In this episode we look through Darryn's own career, and pick out some cars that are the highlights from various eras. This is a ripper!

Welcome to this Action RC podcast series reflecting on 80’s and 90’s R/C racing in Australia. There are few drivers in Australia more accomplished, or more versatile than today's guest. Starting in the late 80's and rising through the ranks to eventually win 10 national championships, Ari Bakla has raced and won in EP and GP off-road, and EP on-road over many years. We talk cars, people, stock motor racing, learning the ropes and how to win a national Champs on used tyres. Enjoy the chat.

Ari Bakla is one of Australia's finest ever. Add to that a tour through the establishment of a business, getting his hands on a cousin's car, and a racing relationship with father Greg that spanned decades. Enjoy this chat.
