Introducing He Was Broke… Until Laundry Made Him a Millionaire | Dave Menz (Part 1) from Millionaire University.
Follow the show: Millionaire University
#370 What if you could build wealth by revitalizing one of the most overlooked industries in America? In this episode hosted by Kirsten Tyrrel, we sit down with Dave Menz, the Laundromat Millionaire, who turned a failing, run-down laundromat into a multimillion-dollar empire by focusing on one key principle: serve your community better than anyone else. Dave shares how modernized laundromats are transforming neighborhoods, why customer experience is the ultimate differentiator, and how even with zero business background, you can start small and scale big. From flipping "zombie mats" to creating full-service laundry hubs with delivery, Dave reveals the untapped potential hiding in plain sight — plus the emotional rollercoaster and sacrifice that come with the entrepreneurial path. This is part one of a two-part masterclass that will forever change the way you view the laundromat business!
What we discuss with Dave:
+ Turning "zombie mats" into assets
+ Serving community as wealth strategy
+ Differentiating through customer experience
+ Importance of modernized laundromats
+ Three ways to enter the industry
+ Hidden demand in overlooked areas
+ Comfort and design as market edge
+ Full-service laundry model breakdown
+ Reinvesting profits to scale
+ Entrepreneurship as emotional growth journey
Thank you, Dave!

Adam kicks off the show with writer and director George Gallo to discuss his 2020 film The Comeback Trail, which is currently topping the charts on Paramount+. They also dive into Gallo’s all-time classic Midnight Run, the importance of studying classic cinema for aspiring filmmakers, their shared admiration for Woody Allen, and a nostalgic look back at the claymation series Davey and Goliath.
Next, comedian Gary Owen joins Adam in the studio to talk about his stand-up special No S, their recent show at the Ryman with Kid Rock, and some hilarious run-ins involving David Hasselhoff. They also touch on the strange coincidence of Gary and his opener having daughters with the same name, and the idea of maintaining “plausible deniability” by avoiding other comedians’ material. Gary shares stories about joining the Navy, and how he managed to serve while simultaneously hosting a TV show.
Later, Adam, Gary, and Jason “Mayhem” Miller tackle some of the day's top news stories, covering everything from Catholic priests and Alcatraz to Smokey Robinson. The conversation wraps up with talk about Boba and Poke, Richard Dreyfuss’ grandfather, and the film The Rock. Get it on.

Introducing The Piranha (PODCAST EXCLUSIVE EPISODE) from MrBallen Podcast: Strange, Dark & Mysterious Stories.
Follow the show: MrBallen Podcast: Strange, Dark & Mysterious Stories
In 2011, a police officer spotted a woman on a busy street in Japan, and he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He looked at a photo on his phone, and then back at the woman, it was definitely her. He’d been tasked with finding this woman and bringing her back home, it was a pretty basic task, but he’d managed to complete it way faster than he thought he would. The officer rushed down the street, greeted the woman, and she confirmed she was the person he was looking for. He led her back to his car, drove her home, and that was that. But what the officer could not have possibly have imagined, was that locating this woman and bringing her home was about to unravel 25 years of unimaginable horrors – and lead to one of the most bizarre cases Japanese investigators had ever seen.

Deaf Frat Guy Zooms in to chat with Adam and Mayhem about his new gig managing a rock band and his alleged journey of "personal growth"—which the guys don’t totally buy. They jump into a round of JV or All Balls, covering everything from firing squads and hoarders to riding bitch, the return of manufacturing jobs, and male G-spot stimulation.
Adam shares a wild video of a Porsche 935 spinning out, which sparks a memory of the time he spun out in one—naturally, his was better.
Later, the crew dives into the day’s top headlines: the male loneliness epidemic, Terrence Howard turning down the Marvin Gaye biopic because he refuses to kiss a man (because he’s definitely not gay, he swears), and finally, the trio figures out what their porn names would be.
Get it on.
