Rice also stresses that the coast of B.C. is an area with some of the most seismic activity in Canada and communities should be prepared with high ground protocols. Donna Friedlander, Tally-Ho Carriage Tours joins the program to chat with Adam about the tourism season finally starting up in Victoria and the challenges they face over the last few years. Friedlander informs us that there are more tours being offered in different areas of the Greater Victoria Area, including in rural and seaside areas. We listen to a segment on Mornings With Al Ferraby as Lisa Helps, Mayor of Victoria discusses her visit with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Andrew Wister, director, Gerontology Research Centre, SFU joins the program to chat with Adam about the COVID-19 pandemic caused a rise in loneliness and depression among older Canadians. Wister notes that as the pandemic has gone, training older Canadians to use new technology has become more prevalent, as it serves as a means of helping Canadians remain connected with friends and family. Open Lines continue as listeners are able to chat with Adam about topics covered throughout the show including the fossil fuel vs electric debate, military spending, and environmental concerns and protests organizations.
