  • 130. Oklahoma vs. TCU preview ft. The Angry Sooner w/ 'Ford v. Ferrari' review
Lincoln Riley's Oklahoma Sooners face Gary Patterson's TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday. Jalen Hurts is still in the middle of a Heisman campaign as Max Duggan is ascending with Taye Barber at wide receiver.
Oklahoma is a bubble team in the #CFBPlayoff and looking to compete for College Football National Championship.

  • 128. It's Ohio State, LSU and Clemson's world. Chad Morris and Oklahoma just live in it
Ohio State destroyed Maryland 73-14, which means the Buckeyes have won nine straight games by 20 points or more. And they out-gained the Terps in total offense 192-1 more yard than I gained from the couch watching that game.
With a 46-41 win against the Tide, the LSU Tigers snapped Alabama’s 31-game home-win-streak. President Trump was at the game. He was the first sitting president since William H. Taft in 1909 to attend an LSU game, which is as political as this channel is gonna get.
Minnesota upset Penn State 31-26 at TCF Bank Stadium. Antoine Winfield Jr. had two picks. Rashod Bateman snatched seven passes for 203 yards, and the win ended a 13-game losing streak against ranked opponents. The win against No. 4 Penn State was the Golden Gophers’ first against a top-five opponent since beating No. 2 Penn State in 1999. The Gophers have a two-game lead in the West Division with three left to play, which means the rodent is this close to getting exterminated by Ohio State.
Clemson neutered the Wolfpack 55-10, but that team lost its manhood to West Virginia two months ago.
Georgia’s defense decided to make like Judge Smails with Mizzou. You’ll get nothing and like it. The 27-0 victory was the third shutout the Bulldogs pitched this season, which is the first time that’s happened since 1981.
Oregon and Utah didn’t play this week. But nobody noticed, and the Pac-12 Network probably didn’t either. And when it does you’ll never see it.
Baylor damn near screwed up getting College Game Day to come to the crib. They beat Texas Christian 29-23 in three overtimes in a game that yielded five turnovers, six sacks and 21 penalties for 192 yards, which is 52 yards more than Max Duggan passed for and 93 more yards than Baylor rushed for, and my Baylor thank you for putting yourself in position to take this Sooner whooping in front of a national TV crowd.
Lincoln Riley's Oklahoma Sooners barely beat Matt Campbell's Iowa State Cyclones 42-41 on Saturday night, and it's the closest thing to a bad win OU has seen in years. Jalen Hurts hit 18 of 26 passes for 273 yards and rushed for 68 on 22 carries. Brock Purdy passed for 282 yards with five touchdowns, and Breece Hall rushed for 110 yards on 18 carries. Oklahoma defensive coordinator Alex Grinch has some explaining to do as the Sooners have given up an average of damn near 45 points per game. Somebody stab me.
Arkansas finally did what I said they were gonna do and removed Chad Morris from the driver’s seat in the hopes that Jesus will take the wheel. With a 4-18 record in Fayetteville, Morris got just one more game to get something going than he of the box-stealing, build a clubhouse clique, Willie Taggart, and has a record of 18-40 as a head coach. You can’t lose to Western Kentucky 45-19 and expect to be on the Razorback Christmas list.
Chad Morris once worked at the University of Tulsa, and that’s my segue into 3-7 TU’s upset of 7-3 Central Florida in a game TU deserved to win. UCF did their damndest to help the Golden Hurricane with a Tulsa-esque 15 penalties for 120 yards, and Seth OK Boomer tried to give me a heart attack, but I didn’t stroke out though I’m sure some TU boosters did.
K-State gave up the booty to Texas on a late smash from Dicker the Kicker who just keeps trying to make me use R-rated terms to describe his elongated right leg, but I have not given in yet.
And Appalachian State is the Carolina states champ with wins over North Carolina and South Carolina. Transitive energy says you rank them right ahead of UGA, cowards.

  • 125. Recap: No. 6 Oklahoma vs. Kansas
OU vs. KU recap and analysis: The day did not start well for the sixth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners in Lawrence, Kan. But it ended with a 45-20 win.
First, there was news that kickoff was pushed back half-an-hour due to a weather delay. Then there was news that OU would play without either of its starting offensive tackles. Neither Adrian Ealy nor Erik Swenson played against Kansas.
Then there was news that OU running back Kennedy Brooks would not play after OU coach Lincoln Riley said he was fine on Monday following an illegal hit to his lower body against Texas Tech.
KU running back Pooka Williams Jr. continued where he left off a year ago and feasted on the Sooners’ front seven. He ran for 98 yards on 16 carries in the half after rushing for 252 on OU last season in Norman.

  • 124. OU kicker indefinitely supsended during Title IX investigation
Oklahoma Sooners kicker Calum Sutherland is being investigated for a Title IX violation stemming from his public intoxication arrest last month. Sutherland was the starting placekicker for OU at the start of the season.
“We have been aware of the matter and Calum has been suspended indefinitely since we were notified,” OU said in a statement.
When the Sooners play the Kansas Jayhawks, they'll put a 14-game winning streak to the test. The Sooners last lost to the Jayhawks football team on Oct. 4, 1997.
The last time a Kansas Jayhawks football team beat Oklahoma:
—Les Miles was the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State
—Lincoln Riley was 14 years old
—Jalen Hurts wouldn’t be born for another year (1998)

  • 123. Week 6 big picture college football primer
The SEC Game of the Week is No. 7 Auburn Tigers vs. No. Florida Gators and the Big Ten Game of Week is No. 5 Ohio State Buckeyes vs. No. 25 Michigan State Spartans. UF quarterback Kyle Trask will have his hands full, and so will Buckeyes QB Justin Fields.
an the Pac-12 get a team into the playoff?
The conference does not have a single undefeated team left. It couldn’t even make it through the first month of football without seven teams catching an L. The selection committee has never put a two-loss team in, and Oregon feels like their best candidate with a loss to an Auburn team that still has the meat of its schedule left. But a 12-1 Oregon would have the best resume.
    Is Bama a shoo-in?
No. Still have to travel to Texas A&M, get the best LSU team anyone has seen in nearly a half-decade and go to Jordan-Hare for the Iron Bowl in a game that could be squirrelly. The run defense is suspect with four true freshmen starting. But they’ve scored at least 42 points in every outing and Tagovailoa is a titan.
Is Jim Harbaugh on thin ice?
He’s got five ranked opponents left including three undefeated teams and a Notre Dame team with no margin for error. You take a loss to each of the ranked teams left and you’re the toughest 6-6 team in football. But that’s not the standard at Michigan, and Harbaugh hasn’t met it. The question for his bosses is who’re you gonna get that’s going to perform better?
Are Justin Fields and Ohio State the most complete team in college football?
Who is gonna stop this team? The toughest away game left is at Michigan. You get Michigan State, Wisconsin and Penn State at home, and you’ve done nothing but utterly soul-snatch every team you’ve faced.
No. 7 Auburn vs No. 10 Florida
UF is at full-strength with corner back C.J. Henderson and defense end Jabari Zuniga back from injury. That’s six interceptions in 27 games and 18 sacks in 39 Dan Mullen gets back. So if Auburn can go into the swamp and come out with a set of Gator shoes we have to start talking about Malzahn and the Tigers the way we’re talking about Alabama, Georgia and LSU. Auburn’s 56-23 demolition of Mississippi State is its most complete game to date following a 28-20 win against Texas A&M at Kyle Field.
Saturday marks the first top-10 matchup in The Swamp since No. 3 Florida thumped No. 9 South Carolina, 44-11, on Oct. 20, 2012.
Florida has beaten seven of the last nine top-10 teams to come into The Swamp with last year’s 27-19 win over No. 5 LSU (Oct. 6)
