Brie with PuroClean joined me in my Facebook group live to give tips about protecting yourself in simple ways for a fire, flood, mold, bio hazard. She talked about knowing where the water/oil/gas shut off are in or around your home, the utility box for electricity, dryer vents on the outside of your home and other items to know where they are in the event of an unfortunate home event.
Brie encourages people to call their insurance agency as soon as the event occurs to start the restoration process. You can get a claim number this way too, which, contractors like because it's a sign to them that they will be paid. Don't worry, you are in charge of who gets hired for the repairs.
Brie went on to speak to the importance of hiring a contractor that is IICRC certified to do any repair work. This way you know you are in good hands and the work will be done correctly!

Ali is a professional organizer and shared so many tips on how to get control of the clutter. As we age and our family ages, lots of times, mom and dad get stuck storing all the stuff from the school years. Ali encourages her clients to take pictures or have the kiddos come claim their stuff. She realizes it's hard to get rid of keep sakes but who is looking at all those trophies from Little Johnny's baseball years?
She also cautions clutter bugs not to start in emotionally charged items or rooms like memorabilia and bedrooms. Start in the kitchen...fewer items and easier to toss or donate items from your kitchen!
A clean home usually equates to a happy home.
