P J Ellis is a retired graphic designer who lives in the suburbs of Atlanta Georgia with her cat Kitty. In her earlier days she was an accountant before transitioning to the world of graphic design at a Fortune 500 media company. Pamela has had an infinity with books going as far back as to that of her youth.  However, like most of us a busy career got in the way, and it wasn’t until she retired did, she turn to her long-held passion of writing. The first book is done, the second is in the process and the third and final one that will complete the series is still whirring around in her head.

The Book

This debut novel is a romantic thriller. However, lurking among the pages are scenes of murder, kidnappings and mysterious episodes, they do say love can be blind. As the story develops it becomes clear to Selena she needs to tread carefully when it comes to those to whom she can place her trust in and those she should be on guard with. As a former fashion model with some considerable notoriety in her own right and with amorous suitors coming at her from every angle, why did she make the ill-judged choice of marriage to Victor LaRoche, was it her youthful inexperience in life? Or attraction to his considerable wealth and charm? Whatever the reason she quickly realises Victor has a dark sinister side to him that comes out in the form of abuse both mentally and physically. As her life spirals into an ever-increasing battle of abuse she faces an uncertain future, but a fresh future she is determined to find, unfortunately Victor has other ideas for her and no matter where she hides and escapes to, he finds her and is determined to destroy her, even after he remarries, he still pursues her. Why? What is his motive? Well, you need to read the book to find out the reasons.

Selena eventually settles in Andersonville, Georgia an infamous town, with a new home and career has she finally escaped the clutches of Victor’s reach, or will she have to face him off for one more time, will she be left with no alternative but to make Andersonville her final stand-off. With events that are going off around her she’s on edge, decisions must be made, but what decisions and how will things pan out?

To muddy the waters a fascinating child comes into play, the role that child plays is intriguing to say the least, add a curious widowed detective into the melting pot whose principal role is that of a new lover and protector, and the narrative takes on a whole new aspect all creatively done to keep you the reader guessing as to the outcome.

As the plot develops Victor’s behaviour becomes more erratic and volatile, to what far-reaching lengths is he prepared to go in his pursuit of Selena? And what extreme measures must she take to protect herself?  Well to find out the answer to those questions again you need to read the book.
