Mia and Max have a treasure hunt – and Max is helping Mia practice her reading!
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 9:32
Searching for Treasure Excerpt:
“Here, look at this.” Max said as he handed Mia a piece of colored paper folded in half with a big number 1 on the outside. “This is your first clue in the treasure hunt!” Max explained. “That’s why it’s numbered one. Unfold the paper and read the clue, and that will tell you where to find the next clue!”
“Ok!” Mia exclaimed. She was very excited to do a treasure hunt but also a little nervous about having to read the clues. She was just learning how to read and wasn’t sure how to sound out all the words yet.

Wilbur Dog wants a quiet morning at the dog park, but Zip Yorkie won’t stop yapping! Will Zip learn to listen?
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:01
Let’s Listen Excerpt:
It was a peaceful Spring morning on Ahway Island. The sun had just woken up from its slumber. It was still quite early, so not many people were out and about; the neighborhood was all quiet. This was perfectly acceptable to Wilbur dog.
Wilbur loved mornings like this, when the sun was warm but not too hot, and everything felt peaceful. That meant he and his human Sam could enjoy the lovely day at dog park without distraction. Wilbur liked to take his time, sniffing the air and listening to the world around him.

Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 9:36
Family Dance Party Excerpt:
Mia stepped away from the window and started to leave the room. Her family didn’t even seem to notice. So she slowly walked up the stairs to her room, thinking and thinking about what to do. As she thought, she opened her closet to see if she could get any ideas. Her eyes immediately alighted on a bright yellow tutu.
“Oh! Now I have an idea!” Mia said to herself. “There might be no sunshine outside today, but I bet I can bring the sunshine inside, and bring it to my family! Maybe that would cheer them up!”

Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 3:40
Beach Day Fun Excerpt:
It was early afternoon on Ahway Island. The sun was high overhead, shining brilliantly and making the air hot and arid. Emily and her family had spent the morning getting ready to head to Ahway Island Beach. Emily had helped Mrs. Parker pack the long blue beach towels with green palm trees on them, the sunscreen, and sand toys. Billy and Mr. Parker had made the family a delicious fruit salad for lunch. Billy had also helped pack the family’s reusable water bottles with lots of ice so they would stay nice and cool at the beach. Once they had everything ready, the Parker family headed over to the train station and hopped on the sparkling blue train that would take them to the beach.

Felicity, Fernando, and Franetta peeper frogs discover a new singer in the forest!
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:35
Woodland Harmony Excerpt:
It was a golden afternoon in the Ahway Island forest. The sun smiled down through the trees’ soft green leaves as they swayed back and forth in the breeze. Wind whispered through the tall grass, and gentle birdsong filled the air.
Near the edge off the woods, where the sunny field met the shade of ancient trees, three little peeper frogs were nestled together next to a mossy log. Fernando, Felicity, and Franetta sat side by side, each one enjoying the alternating sun and shade as the branches overhead rocked in the breeze.

Charlie Truck gets stuck in the mud, but gets some help from a friend!
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:47
Muddy Fun! Excerpt:
The driver got into the driver’s seat and turned on Charlie’s headlights. Then, the driver slowly and carefully rolled Charlie out of his garage. The little truck quietly rumbled so he wouldn’t wake the neighbors so early in the morning, but it was hard to be quiet because he was so excited.
Soon, Charlie was happily rumbling down the road, headed towards a park where he could play. The roads were empty, as it was too early in the morning for most other cars and people to be awake. It didn’t take too long for Charlie to reach the park and soon, he was inside the park grounds, ready to play.

Dragon is on the way to the community garden with Rebel, Rob, and Riley the raccoons, when a surprise drops right out of the sky!
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:18
Mystery Seed Excerpt:
It was an early morning on Ahway Island. The moon was just beginning to lower in the sky, and the very first hints of golden sunlight peeked through the trees. A soft glow filled the cave. The morning light gently wakened Dragon. With a stretch, Dragon hopped out of bed. Through the cave’s opening, Dragon saw the sun rising over the horizon and felt the calmness of the day.
Dragon stretched and glanced toward the forest path that led toward the Ahway Island park. It might be nice to visit the community garden today, Dragon thought. Everyone on Ahway Island was welcome to help tend the garden and share in what it grew. It was a happy place, full of beautiful flowers, vibrant vegetables, and wonderful memories. With a smile, Dragon began the walk to the garden.

Theresa makes a new friend in C.J. while they’re at the park, and Joe helps them out when their kite gets stuck in a tree!
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 3:48
Curious Kite Excerpt:
Just as Theresa was about to inspect another tree, something bright hovering in the sky caught her eye. Not too far away, a colorful shape floated and twirled in the breeze. It looked kind of like a butterfly, but it was much too big to be real.
Theresa took a few steps toward the shape and squinted into the sky, holding a hand above her face. It wasn’t a butterfly – it was a kite! A butterfly-shaped kite with wings painted in all the colors of the rainbow. A long ribbon flowed behind it like a tail. It looked beautiful, spinning and gliding in the wind. “Who is flying that?” Theresa wondered to herself. Theresa had never flown a kite before, and she was really curious about it.

Skipper Street Sweeper and his driver Marta clean the streets all around town.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:36
Sweep Sweep and Away! Excerpt:
Skipper the Street Sweeper was a happy fellow. He just loved cleaning the streets of Ahway Island and keeping the island beautiful for everyone to enjoy. And today was a very exciting day! It was the first of the month, which meant he was going to sweep over by the school and the library, as well as the post office and the grocery store. There usually were very interesting things to see and sweep away when he was cleaning in town.
It was bright and early morning when Marta opened the overhead door to the garage where Skipper was waiting. Marta was his driver and he thought she was such fun to work with. While she was driving, Marta liked to listen to really peppy, cheerful music and Skipper loved the music too. Or sometimes, Marta would just sing or hum a melody and she had such a pretty voice.
