Orville Otter plays a game with Payton Platypus…but Payton breaks the rules!

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 3:49

    Lava Rules! Excerpt:

Orville Otter floated idly on his back near the edge of the pond, paws folded behind his head, wet brown fur shining. He gazed up at the big blue sky, watching fluffy clouds drift slowly by. It’s a perfect day to play, Orville thought to himself.

Just then, as if he’d had the same thought, a little platypus poked his flat bill out of his pondside burrow. It was Payton Platypus! Orville spotted his friend right away. A big smile spread across his face. “Good morning, Payton!” Orville called

  • Ep 955. Spectacular Sunrise: a calming meditation and story for kids

Flick Farm Truck and Trenton Tractor spend the morning doing their chores and enjoying the beauty of the farm.

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 4:24

    Spectacular Sunrise Excerpt:

Flick didn’t particularly like waking up when it was still dark outside, but she did enjoy watching the sun rise. It always made the farm look so beautiful. Though…it would be a while before sunup, Flick realized, so she focused intently on her chores to pass the time.

Flick’s first job was to carry people to their morning tasks. With the farmer steering her carefully, the little green truck rolled up and down the fields, bouncing as she went. The cool morning air felt refreshing against her windshield, and she couldn’t help but smile as the early-rising farm workers laughed each time their ride bounced on the uneven ground.

Tracy is getting her yellow belt today! Will she show her friends her new moves?

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 3:30

    Taekwondo Celebration Excerpt:

Tracy took a moment to remember all of the time she’d spent practicing taekwondo. It had been a lot of work, but it had also been a lot of fun. To do taekwondo, Tracy had to focus on the movements, listen patiently to her instructor, and practice often. It was something she had been working on for a long time.

Tracy felt proud of herself for practicing every day, even when it was tiring. All that effort helped her move up one belt color. Today, she would have her belt-passing ceremony after school, and after that, she would celebrate at her house with her friends and family.

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new stories this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “A Beautiful Flight,” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 8:04

    A Beautiful Flight Excerpt:

Now that Hazen was feeling nice and cozy, he began to think about what he might like to do on this beautiful morning. The little hawk gazed out at the field surrounding the oak tree. He felt soothed by the rippling movement of the grass. The field almost looked like an enormous ocean. As the breeze danced in the field, the grasses responded, creating swirling circles and waves. Hazen smiled as he watched.

“The world is so full of such beautiful sights,” Hazen thought to himself. “I should just go explore today, and just focus on what an amazing place this world is. I’ll take a little flight – a little sight-seeing tour!”

  • Ep 951. Tabletop Takeoff: a calming bedtime and naptime story for children

Bozz, Rozz, and Mozz racecar are stuck inside on a snowy day and get to try something new!

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 4:08

    Tabletop Takeoff Excerpt:

Today was a cold winter day, and Bozz, Rozz, and Mozz, the toy cars, were stuck inside. They looked out the window and could see snow coming down heavily. The flakes were white and pretty, but the cars knew it was cold and wet. Their little boy, Mike, would not be taking them outside to play today.

Instead, Mike was setting up the racetrack on the coffee table in the living room. Their racetrack was in the shape of an 8, with one hill in the center. Most of the time, their racetrack was stored on Mike’s dresser, or even sometimes put away in a box. But when Mike wanted to play, usually he set up the track on the floor of his bedroom. So this is why Mozz, Bozz, and Rozz were so excited, despite the snowy weather: they were on a new adventure in a new room! The three little cars waited patiently on the living room carpet as Mike finished setting up the track.

Dragon returns to The Art Nook to help paint a happy mural.

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 3:37

    Dragon’s Painted Picnic Excerpt:

Today was a very special day. Dragon was incredibly excited and had been up since the first hint of daylight appeared on the horizon, waiting for the sun to fully emerge. The air was a perfect temperature that felt both refreshing and comfortable. It was still so early that Dragon had plenty of time to mosey along the forest path that led to the edge of town.

Today, Dragon was heading to The Art Nook. It was an art studio in the center of town. People could go there to take all sorts of art classes and buy art supplies. A short while ago, the studio’s owner decided there should be a mural on the brick building’s side, and invited everyone on Ahway Island to help.

Billy hears a noise coming from the woods. He and his sister Emily look for the source of the mysterious sound.

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new stories this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “A Song in the Woods,” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 8:48

A Song in the Woods Excerpt:

As they made their way into woods, the sound grew louder and louder. But then, as the trees surrounded Billy and Emily, the trilling suddenly stopped. The two children looked around. Plants with large, heart-shaped leaves covered the ground, but the children couldn’t see any animals that could be making the sound. Billy and Emily looked at each other, puzzled. Nodding to each other, they began walking again, but as soon as they moved, the trilled song began again.

This time, Billy and Emily each stepped towards a different tree. Billy stood by a big maple tree, and Emily stood by a smaller sapling. The trilling continued but didn’t seem to be coming from either the maple or the sapling. Billy moved over toward an old tree stump, and Emily stood beneath a tall pine. They could still hear the trilled song, but the source of the sound was not the tree stump or the pine tree.

Today’s Meditation: Gently sway like the graceful willow tree in today’s meditation.

Acadia and Ahanu Pika are supposed to meet Dragon today, but Acadia wants to stay in bed. What will she do?

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 3:32

    Showing Up Excerpt:

A few of these boulders were so close together that they made a nice spot for two little pikas to make their home. Tucked safely in the space beneath the rocks, Acadia Pika began to wake up. She yawned and slowly sat up. The little pika scratched her round ears and shook the morning dew from her soft, brown fur.

Acadia peeked outside the rocky entrance of the nook and saw how foggy it was. Grey and misty mornings like this were perfect for staying in bed. Acadia was about to try and return to sleep when she heard a happy chirp from outside.
