Ruben Miribyan founded the Armenian Jiu-Jitsu Federation and Legacy Yerevan in the City Center of Yerevan and has been instrumental in the growth of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Armenia. It’s always a pleasure to have him here locally training and grateful to him for always taking good care of me when i visit Armenia and for our friendship over the years.

Always great to talk with Professor Leonidas about Jiu-Jitsu and Education. He has worked in Education for the last 24 years and is the middle of shifting and merging his two passions into opening a Jiu-Jitsu Academy with a Learning Center in the San Fernando Area. Proud to see his see his growth in his career and the difference he’s made in so many communities over the years.

Javier Vazquez, also known as “Showtime”, is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and was one of the first lightweight MMA stars. Former KOTC Champ and competed at some of the top promotions in the world such as Shooto, EliteXC, WEC and UFC.

Javi is also a Cancer Survivor. We go deep on health and how it’s changed everything in his life.

Randy is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2006. Joann is currently a Brown Belt and an IBJJF World and Pan American Champion. They both share the story and struggles of living with Multiple Sclerosis and how BJJ and our Community has helped him. The doctors told him he would probably be in a wheelchair and Randy won this years IBJJF American Nationals and received his Black Belt on the podium. They both train under Ricardo “Pantcho” Feliciano at Checkmat Murrieta. It was an honor to sit down with this power couple and champions of life.

Joe Rotta began training in 1994 after watching UFC 2 with Royce Gracie. He had some major injuries along the way, where he thought he would never train again. Finally after a 13 year hiatus he was given the ok by his doctor and has never looked back. I love talking old stories with Joe on the early days of Jiu-Jitsu in America. It was an honor to promote him to Black Belt last year and glad we got to finally sit down and talk about some of his journey in the art.
