I am honored today to share with you my kindred spirit, Milan Bush. I connected with her over 5 years ago, and while we haven't connected on a regular basis, every time I have touched her presence, she radiates PURE GOLD.

Milan Bush is the Founder + Visionary of Honoring Black Stories.

Honoring Black Stories was started in 2020 when Entrepreneur Milan Bush saw the need to highlight the empowering and positive stories in Midway’s Black community. Honoring Black Stories is currently the only Black owned business in Midway.

Honoring Black Stories was inspired by the lack of common knowledge regarding the contributions made to the commonwealth by Black Americans in Midway, KY. Bridging the gap of information by providing educational tours and contents, as well as giving back to the community in real-time ensures preservation for the future.

Honoring Black Stories is a place to learn and be heard. We wanted a way to share those mostly forgotten but so important narratives.

Honoring Black stories is a place where we bring black experience to life. By sharing accounts, we breathe life not into histories but into people and community.

In the most engaged post in my FB community of 2020, I asked, “Let’s start a thread of good things that happened to you in 2020?” 

In a year that has brought us more panic at times than any sense of joy, I was taken back by the LOVE that poured through this post. This love brought to light the first unspoken miracle of 2020, that of perspective. 

Each day, YOU get to choose your perspective, the lens with which you see the world, your life, and how you relate to the chaos around you.

This episode unlocks a fresh perspective to close out 2020 to find the “catalyst” from these challenges…to ask yourself 3 powerful questions that will not only help you look back, but move forward with a guided sense of HOPE for 2021.
