We have beauty industry news to discuss to kick us off this week! Makeup By Mario’s new cosmetics line is ready to launch at Sephora. In case you’re not aware who Mario is, he’s the artist made famous by Kim Kardashian and his game-changing contouring techniques. We’re looking forward to the PR send outs on this one, as we aren’t quite sure if he’s hit the mark, or missed it.

Alicia Keys is the next Selena Gomez and is slowly starting to leak us secrets about her beauty range SoulCare… What could air care refer to? Find out for a hint on her first product range that will be ready in time for Holiday. 

Also in beauty news, Estee Lauder is sending a product to space … but not for research .. listen in to find out what the heck this is all about. 

We’ve spoken about it a couple of times now, but haven’t formally reviewed the Mecca Athletica Skin Perfecting Body Wash! Aside from smelling like a lamb roast, we have a lot of complementary things to mention about this product that has found a comfortable place in both of our skincare regimes.

Happy Monday! Welcome back to another episode! 

Some draaamaaa and controversy in the beauty industry this week as Frank Body were called out for not publishing low-rated product reviews on their website, Glossier have been called out for ‘stealing’ an artists work and COTY are being sued by their shareholders… but what for? You’ll have to listen to find out! 

We have TWO products to discuss this week, a new perfume range by Ellis Brooklyn, and the GHD Rise! Did Lisa convince herself to purchase a Rise after last weeks episode? Yes, she did. As for the perfumes, well, let’s just say we’ve learnt a valuable new lesson about purchasing scents online this week haha. 

Lisas beauty fave this week doesn’t smell like cat piss in a dank alleyway, but more like fruity melon enzymes - intrigued? Alex doesn’t have a beauty fave, but last week was a block podcast and this week is a gluten free rigatoni podcast, thanks to her very delicious meal-like snack.

Dr Dennis Gross is a board certified dermatologist, who together with his wife, Carrie Gross, founded a brand that brings in salon treatments into the comfort of your own home. The brand was built on their iconic Alpha-Beta Peel Pads, which rose to fame when the clinic became so busy, they needed to provide a solution for patients in between salon treatments and for those unable to book in. Dr Dennis Gross has since curated a wide range of of efficacious, easy to navigate products, that are enjoyable to use, as well as pioneering some of the most high tech at home devices on the market.

In very exciting news, this week Mecca have launched their Mecca Athletica line! Whilst we may have been convinced they were dropping activewear, this AHA, BHA, PHA infused body care line is JUST as exciting. NARS Is extending their climax range including a new XXXL ribbed … mascara wand, and a dreamy palette. 

When Lisa starts our product trial with “I’ve never felt uglier” you know you’re in for a good time! This week we’re trialling the Designer Brands Centre Stage tubing mascara from a listener recommendation. It’s a tubing mascara, with a drugstore price tag and a LOT of claims and we can’t wait to tell you our thoughts.
