It’s 2021 and we’re back and better than ever (in our opinion, anyway). 

Let us start by bringing you up to speed on our little holiday break and events over chrissy before jumping straight into beauty news! 

To catch you all up on Beauty News, we’re starting with the Nikki Tutorials documentary. Whilst we’re glad this mini series exists, we do wish that 1) the eps were longer 2) the series is missing a few key elements of Nikki’s life given how long they were recording and 3) … it is a little yawn-y. We’re also covering the (not so) new MAC x The Sims palette collab, new influencer brands by Ssssamantha and Katy, and a YSL lipstick printer … yes you heard that correctly, but don’t get excited yet. 

Next, Lisa is going to gift you and your ears an on-air demonstration of the NEW Liberty Belle Godsend oil. Keep your ears peeled for a proper product review on this one in the coming weeks! 

We have LOTS of beauty faves to go through from over the break so this week we’ve got faves and anti-faves from Alex and a repeat fave from Lisa.

HAAAAAAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALEX!

Moving into beauty news it’s important that we let you know that Liberty Belle has launched the missing piece of their product puzzle - an oil! Nikki Tutorials’s robbers are no longer at large, Raw Beauty Kristi has named Young Beauty Kristi (her son), and Static Jon has launched a beauty line collab with Artists Couture. We also found out investigating beauty news what @Katy’s surname is. You’ll be shook. 

This week we tried Mac Face and Body foundation. This foundation is loved and adored by artists worldwide for it’s flexible formula with a buildable, waterproof coverage. This was Lisa’s first time trying it in her whole 27 years of life, so please enjoy what she has to say about this discovery!

Lisas beauty fave this week is the Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial and Alex’s is the Tatcha Violet C Radiance Mask and Lisa also has an Anti Fave: The Lanege cream skin mist. She has a number of gripes with this product so proceed with caution!

The countdown is on! Only a couple of episodes remain until Christmas! 

It’s an influencer heavy news week this week with the most exciting news of all being that Lisa and Alex’s best friend (lol) Allana @allanarama has FINALLY gotten engaged to dejan. Of course we already knew because we’re her nearest and dearest friends, but you didn’t … and now you do. Hooray. Also in news we’re discussing the re-launch of Zoe Foster-Blake’s Go-To brand for ‘men’ Bro-To and whether it’s still weird that there’s a requirement to bring out a ‘more masculine’ version of packaging to cater to those non-peach lovers. 

This week we have Brenton back on the podcast to discuss his product trial of the week - the Briogeo Curl Charisma hair gel. Likened to KY Lube, Brenton has a lot of opinions about how this gel tamed his curls and what made it different to the usual Bumble and Bumble curl cream.

GUESS WHAT EVERYONE! Another YouTuber is PREGNANT! 

Kicking things off this week with A LOT of baby chat thanks to two weeks of beauty news ft. Sam Ravandahl as she’s announced to the world that she’s not only birthing a beauty brand, but a BABY too! We then proceeded to talk about Lisas butt for a rather long time … And got back on track to discuss the leaps that Fluff Beauty is taking to respond to customer feedback and become more sustainable. 

This week we trialled the Youth To the People Dream Eye Cream. A lovely, creamy (duh), under eye cream containing ceramics and brightening antioxidants, this eye cream is a great basic addition for anyone with normal to dry under eyes! 

Alex also brought us the contents of her bin so that we could discuss EMPTIES! Really, after this point you can switch off if you’re only here for beauty chat as the rest of the episode we discussed pizza, gluten and snacks!

Happy Monday! You’ve caught us on a high for this week’s episode because Lisa had a GREAT day and we’re also about to record Wednesday’s mini ep on Xmas Gifting! 

In beauty news this week, we are very excited to share that Samantha Ravandahl has discussed that she’ll be launching her makeup line early next year! Speaking of influencer launches, Jamie Genevieve’s new brand, Vieve has been plastered all over our feeds and launched on Cult Beauty this week. 

We also MUST touch on the fact that our beauty wonderful dreamland is about to open in Sydney - the Mecca Stack. Is it good/bad/weird that opening in the stack is a Sarah and Sebastian ear piercing and bracelet soldering offering. 

This week we trialled the Victoria Beckham x Augustinus Bader Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturiser. It’s a packaging delight and it cost us $6483 AUD … Not really, but almost. What did we think of it? You’ll have to listen to find out. 

For our Beauty Faves this week, Lisa promises this will be the last time she discusses Liberty Belle (for 3 weeks). Her favourite this week is their very luxe Star Quality moisturiser … and also the cleanser which she jams in as a sneaky second fave. Links below to the set she discusses! 

Alex’s fave this week is the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation stick. Everyone on the internet says that it’s good and Alex agrees. It’s a little dryyy but it’s a beautiful stick foundation if you’re looking for a good all-rounder.

Thank god you’re here! Strap yourselves in, we have a very VERY news-heavy week this week.

This week we were surprised to learn that our (everyone’s) favourite Scottish beauty influencer, Jamie Genevieve has dropped a makeup line on our pretty laps! We haven’t been on the gestation journey of Vieve coming into our lives so we’re not too sure how to feel about this shock - was it the right move for Jamie to keep this so under wraps?

Also this week, Tom Ford Beauty and Estee Lauder have dropped at Mecca online and Grown Alchemist have opened their experiential Retal Lab in Melbourne, topped with treatments, light therapy and beauty IV’s, we might just lock ourselves inside there for a while. 

We can’t run or hide from influencer launches this week as Amelia Liana has popped out another and dropped Raemi jewellery. AAAnd our very favourite, Raw Beauty Kristi has collabed with ColourMom (colourpop) for a woodland mushroom forest inspired collection. Also Ilume Trio is back but we don’t wanna hype it because Hourglass hasn’t brought it back to us in more shades! 

Product reviews are back and this week we trialled the NEW Go-To Skin Party body moisturiser. This lotion is rich but absorbs almost instantly - We described it as the perfect moisturiser to lather on before putting on a pair of jeans - YEP that lightweight.
