Episode 74: Port Lincoln Tuna Comp Preview
This week we are joined by Steven Toome and Ashley White, who have taken over as organisers of the 2023 Port Lincoln Tuna Classic. We hear about the boys fishing backgrounds and also get a comprehensive preview of the comp, to be held in late March. The event not only produces heaps of Tuna every year, it has amazing prizes and also has a great social aspect, including dinners pre and post the comp and an anchorage set up for the Saturday night aboard the Tacoma – a beautiful, 1951 original Tuna boat.
We also announce the winners of our Summer Competition, with great prizes from Shimano, Troll So Hard Lures and Savage Tackle, you’ll have to tune in to be the first to know who has won!
As always we also discuss the local fishing reports, including our own Kingfish mission to Cape Jervis last week and finally some decent numbers of Tuna being caught from Victor Harbor. Our tackle item of the week is an EGI Wallet from Shimano.
This weeks fishing news includes:
· Growing traction for a fishing license
· Scrutiny on the Wirrina Boat ramp
· More consequences of the floodwater exiting the Murray Mouth
· Some notable recaptures from SAFTAG
· A date has been announced for the 2023 Onka Stompa competion.
Another great episode, with all of this discussed in detail, plus plenty of banter!
