What do you need to forget? In Philippians 3:13, Paul writes from house arrest and says he is “forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.” But no healthy human can actually erase their past. So what does the Bible mean by forget? In this episode of the Stress Less series, Alex and Lokelani walk through Joseph’s forgiveness of his brothers in Genesis 45, the cost of discipleship in Luke 9:62, Paul’s testimony in 1 Timothy 1:12-17, and God’s promise in Hebrews 10:17 to remember our sins no more. Biblical forgetting doesn’t mean amnesia. It means your past no longer rules you, and your sin no longer determines your standing with God. Plus 8 applications for walking free of what’s behind you, and an honest After the Amen conversation about shame, fear in relationships, and what four years of pastoring a house church has actually cost. forget it

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego got thrown into a furnace heated seven times hotter than normal, and someone showed up in there with them. Your idols will not do that. When the heat gets turned up in your life, look around for the thing you have been trusting. If you can’t find it, you just found your idol.In this message from 1 Corinthians 10:1-13, we walk through why Paul warns the Corinthian church with the failures of Israel in the wilderness, the four things that made them fall, and why you cannot kill an idol by trying harder. Idols do not get defeated. They get replaced. And the only One with the right to that throne is Christ. We also deal with the verse everybody quotes wrong. God never promised He would not give you more than you can bear. He promised He would not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, and that with the temptation He would provide the way out. Those are two very different promises. This is part of our Maturity series at House Church Kauai, verse by verse through 1 Corinthians.housechurchkauai.com This is a public episode. How to Not Fall Into Temptation

In this episode we look at one verse, Philippians 3:14, and ask what Paul was actually hunting down from a prison cell while still full of joy.The Greek word for "press on" means to hunt. Saul hunted Christians. Then Christ hunted him. Everything changed. Paul spent the rest of his life chasing the one thing that had already chased him down. You don't press on so God will accept you. You press on because He already has. Like a bride preparing for a wedding day to a groom she already belongs to. Like Mary at His feet. Like John leaning on His chest. The goal isn't heaven. The goal isn't the crown. The goal is Christ.Hunt down heaven with a full heart. After the Amen: How does Christ's pursuit of you make you stress less? Jesus was rejected by man because He was selected by God. He did and said things people didn't like. as His follower you will be rejected too, but remember you are selected by God. www.amenpodcast.com

REJECTION

a hypocrite was an actor in biblical days, they had a mask with 2 sides, both sides had a different emotion that they could switch between backstage. today we discuss 3 characteristics that expose hypocrites and how we can stop being hypocritical. support: www.amenpodcast.com

FAITH-FINESSE

"Triggered" it a popular term meaning an emotional/psychological reaction caused by something that somehow relates to an upsetting time or event in someone's life". From the untrained eye, Jesus looks triggered when He flips the temple tables in Mark 11. Why did He do that? What did it mean? Let's explore what it means to "trigger" Jesus and what His followers should look like. www.amenpodcast.com

TRIGGERED

We're back in 2 ways. We took a 2 week break, but we're also back in the book of Mark! Mark 11:12-14! www.amenpodcast.com

God wants us to be childlike, not childish. Childlike fear trusts deeply, grows humbly and lives simply. Childish fear does the opposite of all of that. Mark 10:13-16. amenpodcast.com
