Five Americans imprisoned in Iran have been placed under house arrest in the first step of a planned prisoner exchange between Tehran and Washington will include the release of roughly $6 billion in Iranian government assets blocked under U.S. sanctions. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 decision that Democrats and the Biden administration cannot move forward with its student loan debt handout program. In open defiance of the law, the U.S. Department of Education announced it will begin notifying more than 804,000 borrowers that their student loans that will be automatically discharged in the coming weeks.
