  • David Bowen: Boots on the Ground

Mary welcomes back David Bowen, founder and Sr. Pastor of Standing Stones Community Church. David is an in-demand speaker and adjunct professor of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. He has a heart for Bible prophecy, and in 2010, he and his wife founded Interpreting the Times. His podcast, The Final Hour, is a must-listen for prophecy perspectives and for updates on the nation of Israel, including his recent trip when he spent time with the IDF. David tells us things that we would not be able to access here in the West, and it is eye-opening. The war on terror, the Israeli people just trying to scratch out their day, the soldiers, the media – it is a complex and spiritual situation that requires that the heart and mind be focused on God and His Word, not the ignorance and lies of the media that has only a portion of the story. We talk about the Nova festival, the massacre that occurred on October 7, 2023. How can the church help the people get things they need to continue this fight? David has some incredible experiences and insights to relate to us all.

  • Headlines: Talk Radio Roots, Rosh Hashana Shut Out, Bot for President

Today Tim and Mary take a look at the phenomenon of political talk via radio, podcast, or The Tube. How did we get to the point where the saturation of political talk takes us down a violent road? Rush, Paul Harvey – political talk pioneers of the 20th century – what would they think of all this chaos? Then we look at Day 718 of the war in Israel. Another anniversary of October 7th looms and while God has kept Israel, and multiple terrorists are in eternity, so many issues remain. Palestinian statehood is forever on the table, but only for her enemies, Satan’s useful tools. State of confusion is more like it. We also talk about Albania and a government bot, something new under the sun? Bot for President? How about Antichrist? How are we even talking about such a thing? A full hour of planetary insanity.

  • Natasha Crain: Culture and the Common Good

Mary welcomes back Natasha Crain to talk culture – and define it in light of Jesus’ words in John 15:18. What do we mean when we say culture? And why would Jesus tell us they will hate us, unless they know what we believe? Natasha’s current book, “When Culture Hates You” is a clear and articulate look at a very timely subject as Christians find themselves more and more in the crosshairs of 2025 culture, which is different from 1958 culture, which might be varied in 2030, should the Lord tarry. What are the rules of engagement? Soup kitchens, alternative lifestyles, abortion? Who is to say what the rules are today in light of the killing of Charlie Kirk? Making sense of the hostility and moving about society armed with an understanding of the true nature of light vs dark is an important conversation today, and loving the people around us who do not know Jesus, how do we advocate for the common good? We talk about the gatekeepers in society and what it takes to be admitted – or shut out – of the public square.

  • Replay – Chris Quintana, Kyle Peart, Flynn Huseby: An Urgent Faith; Israel, and a Restraining Force

[Original airdate: 9/6/24] On today’s podcast we chat with Chris Quintana, Kyle Peart and Flynn Huseby live in the studio. Up for discussion is the urgency of the gospel and bringing hope to as many as possible while the church is still able to speak clearly and uncompromisingly. Two things that await every human are death and standing before God. One hundred years from now, all that will be important is, who is in heaven with us? While there may come a time when we can no longer communicate the truth openly, our neighbors and friends need to hear. Kyle and Flynn have a heart for the lost and through their ministry, Once Lost Ministries, they contend for the faith with clarity and zeal. Then we look at Israel and the latest headlines there with Chris who has a thorough understanding of Israel and her place in prophecy.

  • Replay – Chuck Girard: A Move of God – the Genesis & Power of ‘Jesus Music’

[Originally aired: 5/4/23] Chuck Girard, singer, songwriter, recording artist, and worship leader, is one of the pioneers of Contemporary Christian Music. He was co-founder and lead singer of the group LOVE SONG from it’s beginning to the present. Born in Los Angeles, Chuck began playing music at an early age. In his teens, he formed a group called THE CASTELLS, which had two national top 20 hits. They also released the song “I Do”, which was produced by Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. Chuck shared the stage with stars such as Roy Orbison, Jan and Dean, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Vee, and others. This led to a successful career as a studio singer and musician which included singing the lead vocals on THE HONDELLS first two albums and their biggest hit, “Little Honda.”

In his early twenties Chuck became disillusioned with life, and like so many of his generation began experimenting with drugs. This led to a five-year search for God through LSD, eastern religion, and a committed “hippie” lifestyle.

Rock & Roll Preacher – Chuck Girard

After years of searching for meaning through drugs, Buddhism, sex, and Eastern philosophy, a long-haired hippie musician walked his bare feet into a little country church and encountered the living God. Confounded by the simplicity of the gospel, a young Chuck Girard dedicated his life to Jesus during the height of the sexual revolution and civil unrest that characterized the decade of the ’60s. Along with thousands of other “Jesus Freaks” who came to be known as the Jesus Movement, Chuck’s story was only just getting started. This raw and honest memoir is both refreshing and convicting.

  • Claude Stauffer: Zechariah – A Major Message from a Minor Prophet

    PASTOR CLAUDE STAUFFER

On today’s podcast, we welcome back Pastor Claude Stauffer of Calvary Chapel of Hope in Amityville, NY. Pastor Claude is a graduate of Hofstra University (B.A. Sociology) and Asbury Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity). He has been in ministry since 1986 and presently serves as the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Hope, a church he has served from its beginning in 1993. He served bi-vocationally as a pastor and social worker for 16 years. He is the author of over 30 books, the latest of which is a thorough look at the person and work of the Holy Spirit and has a vital radio ministry to the Northeast and beyond. Today we look at the first few chapters of Zechariah in order to understand the who, what, and how of being used by Him. Primarily, the key verse is “Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord ” (Zech. 4:6). So much of what goes on in the church seems to point to a generation that thinks worship-tainment, a best-selling self-help book, and programs are the way to accomplish the work of God, when really, none of that works. It hasn’t, and it won’t. Zechariah and the Holy Spirit have a lot to say to us here in 2025. Pastor Claude’s most excellent blog can be found here. His books can be found here, and many in electronic/Kindle format are available at no cost.

  • Headlines: Holding Fast the Profession of Faith

Tim and Mary come bearing headlines for another round of news and commentary. Today we discuss persecution in America, as anti-Christian rhetoric ramps up in diverse places. Last week we chatted with Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs to learn about our church family overseas; today we talk about perils in the US – and opportunities to stand firm for the faith. We also look at the latest with the IRS statement allowing pulpits to promote political candidates. Good, bad, ugly? Freedom of speech is always good, and just because it comes from the side of those who preach morals and are pro-life, doesn’t make it less valuable. In fact, the world needs more words of value spoken by God’s people on many subjects. But, we also have people in pews who think differently about politics and candidates. Is this a breeding ground for divisiveness, and what about those who really don’t come to church to hear about politics on any level? Just askin’. We also talk about the 2-state solution and hostility against Jews. Did we really think we would be left out of that danger zone, where our Jewish brethren are suffering for their beliefs but not the church?

  • Mary Danielsen: Not So Among You

Today, Mary takes on a topic that may be hard to hear, but is necessary, and few in the church are speaking out about it. The passage is 2 Timothy 3:1-5. When the Bible talks about perilous times, we tend to think about those headlines that appear suddenly and stand the world on its head – birth pangs, wars and rumours, Israel. And yet these verses point to a peril no one wants to talk about: the human heart. And not of unbelievers, but in the church. How in the world did we get here, loving self more than God? And yet, churches are battling this ill more and more to the point where believers are staying away. Yes, lack of sound doctrine plays a part – sometimes. But when narcissism begins to work its evil throughout a church, flowing primarily from controlling and unaccountable leadership, who is watching out for the sheep? What is a “form of godliness”? Why does Paul say to avoid such? What are the qualifications for pulpit ministry? Christians tend to be gracious and put up with a lot of mischief from leadership, as long as the doctrine is sound. But what does God think about those who mistreat His people? Let’s let the Word do the talking on this one, but talk about it we must. The gentiles lord it over others, but it should “not be so among you”. A challenging hour on an elephant-in-the-room topic. PDF transcription – click here.

  • Dave Wager: God Bless America? The Forgotten Responsibility of a Blessed Nation

NEW PODCAST: On this special solo edition of Stand Up For The Truth, Dave Wager asks a loaded question many of us don’t stop to think through: What are we really asking when we sing “God Bless America”? This isn’t just about waving flags or reciting patriotic songs. Dave unpacks the biblical reality that blessing always comes with responsibility. Drawing from Psalm 33:12—“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”—he challenges listeners to consider whether we’re seeking comfort or commissioning. Have we used our blessings to glorify God and serve others, or have we settled into comfort and forgotten the Giver?

From the roots of Irving Berlin’s famous song to the fiery furnace of Daniel 3, Dave walks us through what true loyalty looks like—loyalty to God first, even when national pride gets loud. Patriotism isn’t wrong, he says, as long as it doesn’t eclipse obedience to the Lord. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn’t start a rebellion, but they drew a clear line. The call is the same for us today: respect authority, pray for leaders, and live lives marked by godliness and dignity—but never bow to what contradicts God’s Word.

  • Judge Phil Ginn: The Importance of Apologetics; The Pestiferous Quagmire; Activist Judges

Today Mary welcomes new guest Judge Phil Ginn of Southern Evangelical Seminary to discuss the critical need for apologetics – understanding it, and using what we learn. It can be like a foreign language, if you don’t use it you just might lose it. Hiding God’s Word in our hearts is critical to the articulation of biblical apologetics. We will talk about their upcoming National Apologetics Conference. Then we look at the quagmire parents have found themselves in when trying to assert their rights and opt out of perverted DEI type indoctrination. The public schools don’t want to deal with those messes, because hey, that means their students aren’t learning to be oh so tolerant of diversity and inclusion. Well, that’s on them, the schools – and parents are fighting back. Finally, we look at our government and why Trump has to deal with the O’Biden judiciary mess via activist judges. How did we get to the point that our duly elected President has his agenda hijacked at every turn? An enlightening hour with the president of SES, a former judge and very sharp regarding the Christian worldview.
