Stephen Parr explains why it is important to be very careful about reading headlines. He cites a headline saying 60% of all restaurants have close due to the pandemic. That is not true. Stephen explains 26,160 restaurants in the United States have closed, with 15,770 closing permanently. He then explains we have 660,000 restaurants in the Nation, meaning the number of restaurants which have permanently closed is closer to 2% rather than what that headline said. In Louisiana, however, losing restaurants is especially critical because Louisiana dining is a major reason for Louisiana tourism.

One commented on how jealous she was because Americans have dining tables. Another mention how Americans can choose any hair style they want. The residents of Minneapolis are now having serious because of their politicians’ failure to support the Minneapolis police. This is a model no other city in America should be following. The criminals are getting bold because there isn’t a police presence any more. The city will collapse because people who can move will move. Property values go down and eventually become worthless.

He explains why environmental alarmism hurts us all. “On behalf of environmentalists everywhere, I would like to formally apologize for the climate scare we caused over the past 30 years. The people who get hurt the worst when there is not adequate police protection turns out to be the poorest among us…..the ones who need protection the most. “The leading cause of death for young black males is homicide….around 90% are killed by other blacks.” We must be a Nation of Laws, not of men.

Louis Avallone reports the City of Shreveport’s internal auditor is looking into reports of alleged multiple traffic stops by Shreveport police of Mayor Perkins earlier this year. He says the information the internal auditor is interested in looking at are for the same dates, times, and locations that KTBS says have been confirmed to them by multiple sources. In the past decade or so, Shreveport has been losing very good jobs with major companies closing their Shreveport operations. It was very different in the late 1960s when Shreveport leadership worked closely with the State officials in Baton Rouge to provide incentives for the northern Louisiana region. Until the people of Shreveport, who have been victims of the abuse of the Political Class for the past 4 decades, start to say “we deserve better”, change won’t happen. The good news is Shreveporters are beginning to say the people of Shreveport deserve better than what they have been getting.

The cities with strong Democrat Mayors (no city managers) are the only ones having problem with riots and destruction.

As he explained, two things form the bedrock of any open society, Freedom of Expression and the Rule of Law. We must want to protect the free and open discourse of conversation.

Shreveport voters were bamboozled and betrayed by Adrian Perkins. As a candidate, Adrian Perkins assured the voters of Shreveport he was committed to bringing the entire city together to make the city stronger. His history as Shreveport Mayor does not support that outcome. Now, before even completing half of his elected term, he is running for US Senate. Perkins has now proven his coming back to Shreveport was just a stepping stone to go for higher elected office.

300,000 unemployed workers will receive their final $600 supplemental payment from the Federal Government. Louis Avallone and Stephen Parr are very concerned about this entire situation. The government cannot “fix” this problem because the government is the one causing this problem. The way to solve this problem is for everyone to get back to work.

Louis Avallone and Stephen Parr discuss a number of problems with reporting about true COVID-19 infections and deaths by the various States and the CDC. Some early test kits sent to the States by the CDC were defective, giving false positives. If people die form other causes, accidents, heart or stroke, or unrelated wound infections, for example, too many of those are also being reported as being COVID-19 deaths. Florida has admitted their infection rates has been inflated by 30%.

Portland has proven that tolerance of rioting and public destruction will not “eventually burn itself out”. It only encourages even more. In Dallas, however, the Chief of Police says her job is not to make people happy. She further states that her job and law enforcement’s job is to keep the City Safe.

President Trump has issued an Executive Order to exclude Illegal Aliens (people who are not supposed to be in the United States) from the apportionment of seats in the U. S. House of Representatives. This also could impact the Electoral College votes by States. This is most likely going to end up having to be decided by the Supreme Court.

To control crime in Shreveport, we must be supporting our police to enable them to do the job the Shreveport needs done. Louis Avallone and Stephen Parr discuss why crime in Shreveport has gone up so much recently. Police Chief Ben Raymond explained the Police Department is short 80+ uniformed police officers, meaning he cannot put enough officers on the streets to better control and to respond to non-violent crime. Chief Raymond also said the effects of stress on the population because of the Coronavirus is adding to the problem.

Louis Avallone and Stephen Parr point out that crime is not as much a poverty issue as it is a fundamental character issue. They further point out how comparatively speaking to other societies, even America’s poor are better off. They point out that 99% of America’s black men do not commit crimes. In listening to the daily liberal news, it is important to remember this. People of all races really want to achieve the same personal goals for themselves and their families.

For the vast human history, everyone was dirt poor, especially prior to the Industrial Revolution. Today, we try to figure out why people are poor instead of why people are financially successful. The answer is Nothing Causes Poverty. Mankind started in poverty. How many times have you heard “we were poor but didn’t know it”? Jerry Seinfield is reported to say when his children asked him if they are rich, he told them “I am, You’re not.” Being poor is not a victim state. It is where we all start. The question really needs to be “How do men and women prosper?”

This quote is very telling: "It says something when you're at a Black Lives Matter protest and you have more minorities on the police side than you do in a violent crowd," he said. "And you have white people screaming at Black officers.”
