SN4-EP4: How Music can comfort and teach you self respect-- MUSIC IS MY BEST HEALER I've always loved finding new music and appreciated the classics equally. There are so many songs that help me heal and see myself through empathy. When I hear lyrics that show vulnerability I find comfort in not feeling alone. Music is vital to my existence since I'm not very social and suffer from social anxiety I listen to music as if I'm listening to a friend vent and take those lyrics as a lesson. My perspective on music has helped me heal since I was a child and it's inspiring to listen to pain, fear, and encouraging lyrics that I'd never hear from humans around me. Most people put on a face or version of themselves when in a public scenario, and music has never been anything but a safe space for me while the real world was experienced through a filter of what I feel is expected of me. I appreciate the lyrics of this artist Diego Lorenzini has many songs I relate to but this specific song "Sonría, Lo estamos grabando" is to the T what I've felt in social situations where I don't feel comfortable. Feed your mind with healthier thoughts so that everything you do is always arming you with self help & empathy. Consider for a moment our cancel culture, it's very honest and helpful while it can be intimidating too. Feel safe that if empathy guides you, you'll remove shame, and guilt which is what can accidentally cause is to see ourselves in a negative light. Toxic families or friends can try to come from a good place and unfortunately use the wrong language to love you the way you need.
