Tamara Thomsen, Maritime Archaeologist for the State Historic Preservation Office at the Wisconsin Historical Society, joins Lisa Dent to discuss the ancient canoes found in Lake Mendota in Wisconsin. Thomsen shares that the people who left them behind were likely a common ancestor of the Ho Chunk tribe. She explains that the canoes were likely an ancient equivalent of today’s e-bikes.
