Ajahn Sucitto reflects on the tendency of the mind to always jump to the next thing. He looks at the various ways the mind looks for happiness and contentment in the future and experiences. He discusses the ways the mind looks for protection in trying to control the world in search of protection from painful sensations. Finally, he reviews the benefits of reflecting on the more stable sense of safety in dāna, sīla, samādhi, and pañña. This Dhamma reflection was offered on June 29, 2002 at Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery.
