Today, for the first time in modern memory, the one camera that's at the White House or that travels with a president almost always, was not there. The major television networks are standing with CNN by declining to replace its White House pool crew after the Trump administration barred CNN from fulfilling its assigned duties today. “The public has a vital interest in receiving accurate, independent information about its government. No administration should restrict a news organization because it objects to its reporting,” ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC said in a rare joint statement. Plus, the Venezuelan DoorDash driver shot by an ICE agent in Texas talks to reporters while in custody, after his attorney revealed he has "a bullet in his back".

Could artificial intelligence kill us all by the end of the decade? That was the question raised last week by former Anthropic employee Jacob Coxon, who said many at the company believe that it's possible. Then this weekend, the company's CEO Dario Amodei posted an essay in which he acknowledged that people may lose control of AI and called on industry leaders to “slow the pace” at improving the technology to avoid the wrong paths and the possibility of AI harming humanity. Tonight, we have Anderson’s interview with Dario Amodei, and reaction from his former employee Jacob Coxon.

It's a gamble that President Trump, who will take the stage tonight, can rally otherwise unenthusiastic Republicans for the midterms. Plus, jurors in the Lindsay Clancy trial are speaking out about the one holdout who caused the deadlock, and Anderson's conversation with the now nationally famous defense attorney Kevin Reddington, about the strategy ahead and what sort of deal he might agree to with state prosecutors.

Keeping Them Honest with what appears to be another instance of the Trump administration promoting its own sanitized version of American history instead of the real thing. It centers on new reporting in The Washington Post, that the administration has removed language, on signage and a web page, criticizing a memorial to the Confederacy formerly located in Arlington National Cemetery. A memorial they intend to restore and put back. Plus, nearly 25 years after the day, new documents confirming what many suspected, the air near Ground Zero was less safe to breathe than officials let on; vital information the public simply was not told.
