Ask any older parent and they'll tell you that the childhood years will be over before you know it.  Ask a younger parent and time has slowed to a crawl.  Hence, "Long Days, Short Years".  Andy Bomback is not only an author and parent, he's a doctor as well, which means he has to juggle a scientific mind with the behavior of a small child, who you could argue behave the opposite of scientifically.
